Not An Ordinary Day at the Office

it was quite an odd schedule for me today... i somehow didn't finish anything that i've supposed to do especially my report that was already due.

to start things off, i've woke up late today, so i gave up my breakfast and my other morning rituals so that i wouldn't be late for work (and it paid-off). Since i didn't took my breakfast at home, the first thing i did when i got to the office was to go straight to the canteen. After my solo flight breakfast meal, i started working on my report, after an hour, my SGL told me to go to my Dep Head's cubicle. At that moment, i knew that i'm gonna be in trouble.

As soon as i stepped in my Boss' cubicle i knew that she's gonna talk about my lates. After 10 minutes, i stepped out of my Boss' cubicle and went straight to Edwin because he's the next one to be interrogated about his lates. After that, i just couldn't find my rhythm to finish up what i've been writing up. Lunch time came and as scheduled, we ate at Guilly's in Glorietta 5 and return to the office after almost 2 hours. yep, extended lunch with my ISI family courtesy of Dona Monna.

After the sumptuous lunch, i felt so sleepy thus i couldn't find the right words to wrap-up my report. Then at around 4:30 PM, when i finally get my groove and felt that i have all the data i need to finish up my report and submit it on time, my TL on my previous audit told me that i need to prepare for a meeting with my previous auditee. She warned me that we could possibly extend up to 9PM but luckily we finished the very long clarifications of my findings at about 8PM.

When i got back to my cubicle, i found my things still in a mess, my computer still on with my lotus notes still on-line and also an unsaved word document containing my unfinished report. Sweet... Now i'm in big trouble...

I went home and arrived at around 10PM and made the final preparations for our trip to Cebu and Bohol this weekend. woot... woot... Tarsier, here we come...

Standing on the Edge

it's been only one and a half months but i have already accumulated the maximum number of lates allowed by HR in a year for an employee to ascend in the hierarchy of BPI. One more late, and i'm definitely be going straight out to the exits. So for the time being, i should probably start updating my resume for a possible early job hunting. Now what would it be... still an auditor or a total paradigm shift?...

Repair For Food Business

after a little bit of unscrewing and pulling... again, i had a free merienda today... woot... woot...

after my one on one confrontation with the malware of Marlyn's laptop, today, i've managed to remove more or less ten(10) hard drives and RAMs from the laptops of audit that were tagged "for disposal". In return for my effortless work, i was rewarded with a McDonald's Cheeseburger Meal courtesy of Ate Chelle... And now, everyone wants to be a part of the Repair Shop Bandwagon... hahaha...

When Tim heard the news, he was like... "ang daya talaga ni ate chelle, ba't ako, lagi nya kong tinatawag para ayusin yung mga Lotus Notes tsaka pag may mga problema sa software pero wala syang binibigay na pa-merienda"... well i guess, to qualify for a free merienda, the job should be in bulk... hahaha... better luck next time Tim... wahahaha...

And also, when Abe saw Ate Tess handed me the bag of McDonald's Cheeseburger Meal, he was like... "ano nanamang laptop ang sinira mo?"... hahaha... i was thinking, if only i could create a virus that would trigger my friends' laptop to malfunction so that they would ask me to fix it, then it could probably turn out to be my best business ever... wahahaha... Do you want to join my monkey business?

Work Hard, Eat Free

Who says, hard work doesn't pays off? well, after my tedious day working at the laptop of Marlyn, i was rewarded with a merienda treat. and not just an ordinary jolli-jeep merienda, but a luxurious Starbucks meal. Marlyn bought me a Venti-size Frappucino coupled with a Turkey Chicken Sandwich. Yummy... now that's what i call fruit of labor.

After smothering on that feast, i suddenly thought of the business proposal Jennylyn keeps on telling me. And the business? Wedding Planner, yep, you read it right, Wedding planner. The business would be composed of Jennylyn's College Buddies and i would be delegated as the Technical guy, in other words... the Laborer... the trabahador... or in terms of partnership, the Industrial Partner. Now isn't that a little bit harsh?

Anyway, since i have experience in creating invitations, editing movies, music editing, in short... the techy guy, they think that i would be a perfect fit to the said job. Well, i really would not count on my so called expertise every now and then since creativity is something you cannot do in just a flick of a finger. You need to have inspiration, an idea, a goal. Sad to say, i usually struggle to find those criteria. But given the fact that it was already proven that if i dedicate myself into something, great things really come my way. So now, i'm beginning to think if i would agree with Jennylyn's business proposal Hmmmnnn... i guess i should give it a shot. Well i should probably test the viability of my creativeness by starting on made-to-order invitations and a little bit of video editing. So today marks the start of my Business Beta Testing. Business Beta Testing?.... doesn't sound good... oh well...

A Day With A MalWare

After almost a day of working on the virus that plagued the laptop of Marlyn, ive finally found a way to better protect my computer against malwares, i repeat, malwares only, because worms and viruses can be quite a headache. Because when you get those, it's almost always results to a hard drive REFORMAT which i highly discourage since all the sentimental value of your files will be lost in an instant if you resort to this option.

Anyway, as i try to juice out all the ideas in my head to come up with a solution for the said malware attack. By the way, in case you like to know and as a warning to all the readers of this blog (if there's any aside from me), the malware was rjvjlsvw.exe, here's the detailed description of it. I believe Marlyn got this one when she run a program that looks like a windows security update. She taught that it was an automatic update that windows started but the truth is, when she went to a website a window popped up telling her that in order for her laptop to be protected from viruses she needs to run the update by clicking on the window displayed. So obviously, she did and that's how it started. The result... her system started to hang during start-up because apparently, the malware eats up majority of the CPU resources making it hard for the system to load all the start-up files. And when i managed to reach the desktop, i immediately run the task manager and found a very intriguing process. i've noticed that the IASS.exe was like playing "catch me if you can", because whenever i clicked on it as an attempt to end it, it will suddenly disappear and reappear somewhere in the middle of the list of processes. In short, you will never end this process. Anyway, if you manage to come up with the idea of using the shortcut key to end it as soon as you have clicked it, it still would not end because apparently, it says there that it was a required file by the system and stopping it was not allowed. What a nifty algorithm?

But due to my perseverance and hard work, and a little sacrifice with my audit, i've stumbled upon the secret to my success. And that is.... drum roll please... the SYSTEM RESTORE function. Now you might say that, you dumba**, why didn't you use it from the very beginning? Didn't you know that Microsoft developed it so that you may revert to your old system setting in case a problem occurs after you installed a new hardware/software? Well, i guess i underestimated its power. I never used it before because the system restore function of my OS right now doesn't work properly that's why i totally neglect it. Thinking that it will only consume my valuable 2.6GB of free hard disk space. So i think, i deserve an excuse, right?

Fortunately for Marlyn, her old antivirus, which i blame... well not really the antivirus but Marlyn herself because she's using the unsupported version of AVG Home edition which is 8.5, created a system restore point last February 5 seven days prior to this almost catastrophic event. And that gave me the opportunity to revert back the laptop to its previous system state and erasing with it the installation of the malware. It's because Malwares are needed to be installed for them to spread their unholy wrath on your system environment. Uninstalling them would be the most logical reason to do but since, the programmers who created them are already one step ahead of us, they have created algorithms to prevent us from uninstalling their precious masterpiece.

That's why from now on, i'll gonna see to it that my OS system restore function's working and is performing it's inteded use. Maybe you should too.

Go Green! - Car Tips to Help the Environment

After i finished my driving lessons in a crappy driving school, yep, a really crappy one... but what do you expect from a 2,700 for 10 hours of driving lessons? Anyway, since then, My mom planned to buy a new car for me on the condition that she will only pay the down-payment and the monthly bills will be shouldered by me. At first, i was like, "sure... yun lang pala eh... "but then it suddenly struck me... i realized that i was working in BPI... now that's a Humongous problem... how could i possibly budget a salary that is tantamount to an allowance? hahaha... Anyway, i've managed to renegotiate the deal, i've asked my mom if she could shoulder half of the monthly amortization and then i will gradually increase my share on the years to come. Amazingly, she agreed... but still, how will i produce nine thousand a month considering that its almost all of my so called monthly salary? So what i did was to include Jennylyn in the equation, i've asked her if she is willing to back me up for my share on the monthly amortization. Astonishingly, she agreed to take five thousand of my share so that leaves me with a slightly manageable amount of four thousand a month. Now isn't that a great deal?

Since then, me and Jennylyn were always trying to find ways of how to maximize the usage of the car. Of how we could possibly save money and justify that we made a right investment. And thus, i made some research on how to achieve fuel efficiency. Let me just share a little bit of what i've found out.

Non-Driving Tips

Walk, Bicycle, Crawl or take the Subway
We're used to taking the car everywhere we go. Three blocks to the store? We just hop in the car and go. However, if you stop and consider it for a moment, you'll realize you there are lots of good alternatives.

You can walk, bike, or crawl! And there are other benefits, besides saving money on gas. When you walk, you'll get exercise and live longer. When you bike, you can stop and meet that new, single neighbor down the street. When you crawl, you could pick up loose change!

If you live in a town or city with decent public transportation, leave your car home and use the bus or train. Even if you use public transit just once or twice a week, you'll save wear and tear on your car, you won't be shelling out for all that gas, and you won't have to dodge cell-phone-addicted rush-hour commuters. Plus you get to people watch — an underappreciated activity.

Choose a More Efficient Vehicle
Time to buy a new car? Do the math and see what it'll cost you if gas costs, say, $5 a gallon in six years. If you're like most Americans, and drive about 20,000 miles a year, increasing your car's fuel efficiency by 10 MPG can save you over a thousand bucks a year — not to mention countless stops at the gas station where you breathe fumes and stand in the rain.

Our advice? Get the smallest, most efficient vehicle that makes sense for your daily driving. There are more hybrids on the market every year. And, when you really do need that Gigantisaurus SUV for loading up the family and hauling the 24-foot cabin cruiser to the beach, rent it for two weeks.
Carpool or Use Public Transportation
Okay, so carpooling or using public transportation is not exactly a revolutionary idea. But the fact is we don't do enough of either one of these things. But then again, if you're lucky, you just might carpool with an investment banker and get in on some valuable insider trading tips.
Talk to Your Boss into Allowing You to Work from Home One Day A week

Tell your boss that you're going to be working at home one day a week.
Then, get another job for that one-day a week you're at home. Think of all the gas you'll be able to afford! Seriously, by working from home just one day a week, you'll avoid putting wear and tear on your car, using gas, getting stuck in traffic — and, quite possibly, you might even discover that you get more work done at home than in the office.

Driving Tips

Use Regular Gas instead of premium
Use the grade of gas you need and nothing higher.

Does your owner's manual say "Premium Unleaded Only"? No? Then don't ever use premium fuel. There. We just saved you 40 cents a gallon... or $8 on a 20-gallon fill up. If your engine is designed to run on regular gas, there's absolutely no benefit to putting in "high test." It pollutes more, it costs more, and doesn't give you any benefit in performance or fuel system cleanliness.

Now, what if your car DOES call for minimum 91 octane? Well, next time you buy a car, dumkoff, check what kind of fuel it requires first. We've always said that once you buy the car, you're stuck. You've got to use 91, because your high compression engine will ping if you don't. But now, most cars have "knock sensors," that retard the timing via the engine management computer (effectively lowering the compression) to protect the engine, in the event that you happen to get some bad gas, or have an emergency and can only get regular grade fuel. So we got to thinking, what would be wrong with using the knock sensor all the time? What if you put regular gas in the car all the time and let the knock sensor do its job and retard the timing? You'd have a little less power, but that extra 8 bucks a fill up might be more important to you than power right now. It would be to us.

It's a controversial theory, we admit it. But that's never bothered us before. And we can't think of any long-term effects of driving with the knock sensor retarding the timing. So our position (for the time being) is... use regular. Who cares?
Slow Down
Wind resistance increases dramatically with speed. That's why aerodynamics have become so important in the last 15 years, and why all of our cars now look like jelly beans.
How much does it matter? Consider this: for every ten miles per hour you floor it, you lose as much as 15% in fuel economy. What's that mean for your retirement account? For every 1,000 miles you drive, figuring gas at $2.50 a gallon and 25 MPG fuel efficiency, you'd save as much as $15 if you drove 10 mph slower. Over the course of the year, that's enough to buy that nuclear powered, stainless steel cappuccino machine you've been coveting — and have enough left over for beans, too.

Our advice? Slow down. You'll be a safer, more relaxed driver, and you'll increase your fuel efficiency. And, believe it or not, due to an unexplained Einsteinian time warp, you'll also get to your destination in about the same time.
Don't Linger in Low Gears
Getting into the highest gear you can, at the lowest possible speed, will save you plenty of gas.

Why? Because you use less gas when the engine is turning slowly. The slower the engine turns, the fewer the number of explosions in the cylinders. And fewer explosions means less gas consumed.

So, if you drive a manual transmission car, shift sooner. As long as the engine doesn't buck, shudder, or ping, you're fine. You'll sacrifice the ability to accelerate quickly — but you can always downshift if you need to accelerate.
Don't Try to Increase Your Speed When Climbing a Hill
Why is it that everyone feels they have to accelerate going up a hill?

It turns out that accelerating uphill is a fabulous way to burn up enormous amounts of gas. Don't believe us? If your car has a display that shows your instantaneous gas mileage, try it out. You'll see your mileage plummet — from 25 or 30 MPG... down to 6 MPG — or sometimes even as low as 2 or 3 MPG.

So, don't try to increase your speed when you're climbing a hill — just maintain the same speed, or even allow the car to go a little slower. Heck, it's a hill! Your wallet will thank you.
Anticipate Stops and Brake Less
Every time you step on your car's brakes, you're wasting gas.

Why is that? Simple. Every time you use the brakes, you're wasting the "acceleration" you've already used. Instead of moving your car, that energy is being transformed into steaming hot brake pads.

How do you use the brakes less? Anticipate. If you're at a stoplight, don't speed away when there's a good chance you'll have to stop again soon. Accelerate slowly, and then coast to the next light. If you see a need to stop up ahead, coast. Don't continue to accelerate and then brake at the last minute. If you anticipate your stops, you'll cut down on your wasteful acceleration, and save lots of fuel.
Dump the Roof Rack
You know that Thule roof rack you keep on your car to convince people that you're really outdoorsy? (Even though you drive a Volvo.) It's costing up to 5 percent in MPG. So unless you need the rack to boost your flagging self-esteem, we suggest you pull off the entire rack. That also goes for standard luggage racks, kayak holders, ski racks, Labrador retriever holders and all the cross bars that go with them. Put it in the garage, and toss the rack back on the roof when you really need it. You'll reduce your aerodynamic drag significantly.
Stop Your Idling
What's your MPG when you're idling? It's negative! You're actually burning gas... and going nowhere.

If you're sitting outside a tattoo parlor waiting for your grandmother, and you know it's going to take her a good 15 minutes to get that new Komodo dragon tattooed on her left butt cheek, turn off your engine. You're just burning money. Some people have heard a myth that it takes more gas to start a car than to run it. So they use that as an excuse to leave a car idling. It's complete B.S. If you're stationary for more than a couple of minutes, shut it off, and save gas.

This tip also applies to warming up the car. Unless it's below freezing, cars don't need to be warmed up at all. Driving them gently is the best warm up there is. If it's 25 degrees out, you might want to let it warm up for 30 seconds. If it's 10 degrees out, warm it up for a minute. If it's -10 degrees out, move somewhere warmer.
Leave Heavy Objects at Home
Some members of our extended family seem to enjoy driving around with, say, 200 pounds of "dead" weight in the back of their cars. And, as it turns out, each 100 pounds in the trunk will reduce your fuel economy by 1 to 2 percent.

So, take a moment, rifle through your trunk, and dispose of any extra bowling balls that are rolling around back there.
Turn off the AC When it's not Hot Out There
If you don't need to run your air conditioner, don't. Your car's air conditioner forces the engine to work harder — and that's energy that could instead be used to move your car forward. So if it's 74° Fahrenheit outside, open the windows instead of wasting fuel running the AC at 72° Fahrenheit.
Stop and Ask Directions

Now, just imagine if every guy stopped and asked for directions when he got lost. The US would never import another barrel of oil!

Maintenance Tips

Check your Tire Pressure
The softer your tires are, the greater the friction between the road and the rubber, and the harder your engine will have to work to move the car. When we check tire pressure on our customers' cars, we notice that they are often nowhere near the recommended pressure. Here's why it matters: Under-inflated tires lowers gas mileage by 0.4 percent for every one pound of drop in pressure of all four tires. So, if you're down by 10 pounds... you're losing 4 percent in fuel economy.

Don't get us wrong: This doesn't mean you should over-inflate your tires (you don't want to be riding on stale bagels), because that's not safe, either. Too much air in your tires can seriously jeopardize your car's handling. But you DO want to keep your tires right at the recommended pressure, which represents a good balance between ride, handling, and fuel efficiency.

If you're not sure what the correct tire pressure is for your vehicle, you can find it on the door to the glove compartment or on the driver's-side door pillar.

When the seasons are changing, keep an even closer eye on your tire pressure. For every drop of 10° Fahrenheit in air temperature, your tires will lose one pound of pressure.
Get Your Car Serviced Regularly
Getting your car serviced regularly is one of the most important things you can do to maximize fuel efficiency.
Regular service can spot lots of problems that reduce gas mileage and increase pollution, such as a broken thermostat, low transmission fluid, sticky brake calipers — or even something as simple as a dirty air filter.

If you can't remember the last time you had your car serviced, take it in. In extreme situations, you might increase your mileage by up to 10 percent. So what? Well, if you drove 20,000 miles a year, you would save $250 — enough to cover the cost of the service, buy yourself a super-size falafel sandwich and still have a few bucks left over to start tipping your mechanic. (You did know you're supposed to tip your mechanic, right?)
Use the Right Grade Oil
Modern engines have such precise engine tolerances that very lightweight oil is often required, such as 0-W20 or 0-W30.

Thicker oil, such as 10W30 or 10W40, may not lubricate as well, because it won't flow as quickly into key nooks and crevices.

Thicker than required oil will also reduce your gas mileage, because it takes more energy to push through thick oil than it does through thinner oil. Check your owner's manual for the recommended viscosity, and ask for it specifically when you get your oil changed. You don't just want whatever they have on special this week.

I've found this tips on this website. Now, i've tried some of the driving tips last night but unfortunately, i messed up again with the gas pedal of my mom's car. Thus, making Jennylyn a little bit dizzy on our way to their house. Guess i have to practice my driving more. Good thing that my mom agreed to take an automatic transmission car. But with the introduction of the paddle shift, i think, i can still save on gas and would also contribute to reducing my additional carbon footprint. Go Green!

My Failed Attempts for Valentines

In my attempt to cut-costs for this coming valentines. I've managed to create entries for the two (2) valentines promo i've stumbled upon last week.

First is the promo of sulit.com.ph entitled "Sulit.com's Love-atory Postcard Making Contest". The instructions were simple, create a unique postcard together with your dedication of not more than 50 words and then send it to their administrators email. The rewards are as follows: A dozen red roses from Island Rose to be sent to your chosen recipient free of charge together with a printed version of your masterpiece plus a 500 Sulit Currency to go with it.

The result... My entry did not win...

Second is the promo of Magic 89.9's Boys Night Out entitled "Romansa Espesyal Package". The mechanics: just create a letter/poem of why you deserve to win the package and then send it to the BNO e-mail add. The rewards, an overnight stay at One Tagaytay Hotel, a dinner for two at Bizu, and a dozen roses from Island Rose.

The result... again, my entry was not selected...

Although i lost to these contests, i'm really proud of what i've created. Because i believe that i've said the cheesiest line ever... hahaha... just take a look at the postcard i've created.

Thanks for ILLUMINATING the DARKNESS in my life... now that's what i call... sobrang cheesssyyy... hahaha... Now when i think of it... maybe this was the reason why i lost... oh well, i'll just have to buy the roses myself...

Nowadays, people tend to become more environment conscious. But who doesn't, i mean, we are already experiencing the horrifying effects of global warming. Effects such as climate change, now when i think of it, probably, snow will fall in the Philippines. And then we'll have winter, then will have winter events and then probably, the Philippines will be hosting Winter Olympics. Now that's what you call day dreaming.

Anyway, since people are now becoming more Greener, literally and figuratively, big multinational companies are trying to take advantage of this opportunity. They are now trying to infuse their latest technology into earth-friendly materials. And here are some of these cool gadgets.

SimpleTech [re]drive

You don't normally associate external hard drives with eco-friendly technology, but that's exactly where this SimpleTech [re]drive comes in. It promises a 25 per cent cut on your energy consumption and comes with a case made from a mixture of tree-hugger's favourite bamboo, and recycled aluminium. It should even make your local environment a teensy bit nicer - it's been designed to work without a noisy fan. The SimpleTech [re]drive can store up to 500GB's worth of files and is Mac OS X and Windows compatible, sporting a Turbo USB 2.0 connection. - techradar.com

EarthDrive

ATP is claiming a double-first for its EarthDrive - its the first USB stick to be made from recycled materials, which in turn can also be recycled themselves. That's in part due to the fact that the EarthDrive's housing is made from a biodegradable polyester called Polylactic Acid, which in turn is derived from corn. The EarthDrive is available in wide range of sizes from 1GB to 16GB and is USB 2.0 / 1.1 compliant. It's also been designed to be completely waterproof, dustproof and shockproof. MOTO 233 Renew

First shown at CES 2009, the MOTO 233 Renew boasts eco-credentials aplenty. Its case has been made from recycled plastic bottles, and is itself 100 per cent recyclable; and it's the world's first first phone to be truly carbon neutral - Motorola offsets the environmental impact of its manufacture, distribution and use thanks to an alliance with the Carbonfund.org. Key features include a 4cm colour display, 2GB of removable memory and, dual-band GSM network connectivity and a built-in MP3 player. Motorola says the battery will last for up to 19 days between recharges; or 9 hours if you make a lot of calls. The MOTO 233 Renew is currently only available in the US, but it should make its debut here within the next few months. - techradar.com

Sony Vaio W series' Eco
For a start, the laptop no longer comes in a box but a bag. And not just any bag but one which is made from recycled plastic which saves on CO2 emissions in production. So far so green.
The Sony Vaio W series' planet-saving attributes don't just end there, though, as the computers chassis is made from 80 per cent recyclable material. Essentially, most of what you see has been either a CD or DVD at some point in its life.
As this means that the polycarbonate is a big feature on this Vaio – a material set to rise significantly in price – it will be interesting to see what price-point Sony will come up with for the diminutive device. Something the company is so far hush-hush on.
The computer itself houses a 10.1-inch screen but is not a netbook – well, not in Sony's eyes anyway.
Coming equipped with an Intel Atom N450 processor (1.66GHz) and 1GB of memory, for its size the computer is a speedy little thing.
The screen is bright, using LED technology and packing resolution of 1366 x 768 and when it comes to weight, it's a rather lean 1.32kg.
The overall look of the machine is definitely desirable. Although the slight green tint may put off some punters it will remind you constantly that you are being GREEN! - techradar.com

KIA Ray Concept
The 4-door, 4-seat Ray concept is a compact sedan based on the Forte platform. It’s the fifth vehicle to come from Kia Design Center America in Irvine, California, over the last year. The Ray concept uses lightweight materials throughout (many which are recycled) to aid in the car’s efficiency, along with solar cells embedded into the roof-top glass panel that power the climate control system. The roof also features glazing materials said to “dramatically” reduce heat in an effort to keep the interior cool.
The Ray’s exterior shape was inspired from aircraft design to achieve the utmost in aerodynamics, while a one-piece integrated underbody panel and narrow tires (195/50-20s) contribute to its drag coefficient of 0.25. Other notable features include driving lamps which slide rearward to form air intakes for the Ray’s internal combustion engine, and a rear decklid which extends at higher speeds. Sideview mirror and door handle duties are taken care of by flush-mounted motion-detector cameras.

If built, Kia says the Ray’s drivetrain could consist of a 153-bhp 1.4-liter Gasoline Direct Injected (GDI) 4-cylinder, a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) and a 78-kW electric motor fed by lithium-ion polymer batteries. the magical season of the University of the East Red Warriors comes to an end as well as their hopes and dreams of claiming another title in the Universities Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Mens Senior Basketball Competition after being defeated by a team that came back from a suspension due to a scandal involving an illegitimate player who played for this team for two seasons. The team that swept the best of three finals series is no other than the infamous De La Salle Green Archers (damn i really hate this team).

Although the Warriors swept the entire eliminations having won their 14 games still, it's wasn't really a factor as the more experienced La Salle team cruised their way to the championship. JV Casio, TY Tang and Rico Maierhoffer dictated the tempo and never let the Warriors, led by Mark Borboran, Marci Arellano and Elmer Espiritu to get their game going.

The first game was really a thriller when La Salle won with the help of a missed shot by Mark Borboran on a 3-point attempt on the closing seconds of the game. The second game showed the inexperience of the Warriors, committing too many turnovers and allowing La Salle to dominate the offensive boards. The Warriors came back to within 3 points but they couldn't get any closer than that missing several easy put backs by their big mens. Clearly the championship was for La Salle (i'm not going to tell how even magical the season of La Salle was because i really hate this team)

This season of the UAAP had it all, having a team winning 14-0 (UE) that led to the a step ladder format in the final four, having the most number of games for two teams to play against each other (5 games for Ateneo and De La Salle, Ateneo winning 3 games but losing the two most important)), having a team losing all their games (UP) that led to the termination of Joe Lipa, a player being suspended for 6 games that ended his career (Brian Illad of De La Salle) by throwing a punch to a UE player (Mark Fampulme), and another sibling war, after the Banal's (Koy of FEU and Joel of Ateneo) the Pumaren's (Dindo of UE and Franz of De La Salle) had their own.

I failed to watch the pre-game show of the UAAP so i missed the awarding of the Mythical Five and the MVP so i need to buy a newspaper tomorrow for the update. I missed it because i watched the fight of Manny Pacquiao (damn that Kapuso channel, they made sure that they'll earn so much for that fight!). Even though it's not a KO victory still, it's another reason for the Filipino people to celebrate (although i'm starting to hate Manny because of his arrogance).

Audi R8

The R8 is capable of a 4.0-second blast to 60 mph.

Characterizing Audi's mid-engine, all-wheel-drive R8 sports car as a German Acura NSX isn't a slam; actually, it's high praise. Because the Audi, which takes its name from the Le Mans-conquering endurance race car, delivers exotic-level performance and impeccable handling balance while providing day-in, day-out usability, refinement and comfort, just as the NSX proved possible some 18 years ago.

With its light aluminum space frame and the aid of four driven wheels, the R8 makes the most of its 4.2-liter aluminum-block V-8, delivering its 420 bhp through either a conventional gated 6-speed manual transmission or Audi's 6-speed R tronic, a paddle-shifted automated manual gearbox. With the manual, the R8 is capable of a 4.0-second blast to 60 mph.

Visually, the R8 is a stunner. Low-slung and curvaceous, the R8 shows off its engine through the rear glass, à la Ferrari F430, and sets off the air intakes aft of the doors with what Audi calls "sideblades," panels that can be finished in either body color or a contrasting hue.

Starting at $109,000, the R8 isn't cheap. But it is a viable competitor to the Porsche 911 Carrera 4, to name one.

While this born-again BMW 2002 may be easier on the checkbook, it won't skimp on features from its pricier relatives.

BMW adds an all-new vehicle for 2008 with the rear-wheel-drive 1 Series Coupe. When it makes its debut early next year, the car will be the least expensive in the company's impressive lineup.

Available in two versions, the 1 Series uses the capable powerplants from its big brother, the 3 Series. The entry-level 128i is powered by the 3.0-liter, 230-bhp inline-6 from the 328i while the 135i features the 335i's 3.0-liter 300-bhp twin-turbocharged inline-6, this latter unit taking the rakish 2-door from 0–60 mph in a little more than 5 seconds. And while this born-again BMW 2002 may be easier on the checkbook, it won't skimp on features from its pricier relatives.

Available amenities include a navigation system with iDrive interface, adaptive xenon headlights (standard on the 135i), Boston leather, HD and Sirius radio, active steering and six airbags (standard on both editions).

Essentially the same car with an improved powertrain, the 2008 Viper can be spotted only by its optional Razor wheels and better-ventilated snout. Then, of course, there are the new vibrant paint/stripe options that are sure to get attention. If not, 560 lb.-ft. of tire-vaporizing torque certainly will.

Under the new hood is a revision of the ohv V-10 that features variable valve timing, achieved through a cam-within-a-cam design. For better airflow and combustion, heads are CNC machined, bigger valves are fitted and the bore is increased by one millimeter, resulting in an 8.4-liter engine that shreds rear tires even more violently than its predecessor. Helping keep the power at bay are a stronger yet lighter twin-plate clutch and a revised transmission with bigger gears and better shift action. The C30 is aimed at the 28–38 crowd whose urban-hep lifestyles include car personalization. A C30 begins as one of two models, the Version 1.0 at $23,395 or Version 2.0 at $26,395.

Both are powered by Volvo's 2.5-liter dohc turbocharged 227-bhp T5 inline-5 driving the front wheels through a 6-speed manual. V1.0/V2.0 differences include body-cladding options (some coordinated, others contrasting), sizing of wheels (17s or 18s) and strength of stereos (8-speaker 4 x 40w or 10-speaker 5 x 130w Alpine Dolby ProLogic II Surround). just as you taught that the penalty imposed on Stephen Jackson and Jermaine O'neal of the Indiana Pacers was enough to set an example to the other NBA players who can't control their emotions in the game, another humiliating event happened today as 10 players where ejected because of a non-sense brawl that broke out at Madison Square Garden.

still a few minutes remaining in a blow-out game by the Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks, J.R. Smith of the Nuggets was on his way for a break-away lay-up, was suddenly hacked by Mardy Collins of the Knicks that ignited Carmelo Anthony, star-player of Denver, to jump in the action and landed a punch on Collins that caused the tension in the arena to escalate as players of both teams started to rush inside the court and then presto! punches rain everywhere.

this event will surely cost the Nuggets alot because not only Carmelo Anthony will be facing a strong punishment but also their starting play-maker, Andre Miller. This is really a bad news for me because both of this players are on my roster for my NBA fantasy league and because of this, i really don't have an option but to replace them, just when i thought that i've already found the missing piece to my team. Damn!

when people ask about David Blane, some would say he's amazing, others might say he's a hoax, and for some, simply ridicoulous. but i have to admit that when i first saw him perform his so called "magics" i was really amazed and was bedazzled by his tricks, especially the one he performed in front of the tv sets wherein he flashes some cards and ask the audience watching, to pick a card then he'll guess what they've chosen. man, it's really mind boggling...

some would say that it's only an illusion and nobody should believe him because all the things that Blaine perform is a hoax and is just a waste of time... but for others, they want to know the secret behind that "magic/illussion"... but i say, it's enough that i was entertained for a bit, and besides where's the fun if you know how it works?... i guess it's fun to be ignorant sometimes...

anyway, the reason that i'm writing this none sense article is because i want to tell the readers of this blog (if they are existing) that David Blane, haas another stupid idea to show off. next week, in New York City, he plans to suspend himself, shackled in a spinning gyro 50 feet in the air for two days and will attempt to break free from it... sounds crazy? damn RIGHT!!! but hey, it's for a charity... glad that he had done something in return for his crazy/stupid stunts...

after the pain and heartache i'm still here standing, still with the hope and aspiration of achieving my goal... to pass the CPA licensure exams...

yes, i failed the exam... reality slaps me hard... i've proven first hand, that failing really sucks... just imagine the people praying and expecting something good from you but just letting them down because you failed and carried with it their hopes and dreams...

but against my struggles, i'm very thankful to the Lord because He surrounded me with people that understands my situation and had always been there supporting me... i'm thankful for my family, my ever supportive girlfriend, my friends and special shout-outs to some of the individuals who had encouranged me directly and indirectly... let me quote some of the things they said:

because of them, i still can smile and had found a new hope in pursuing my recently shattered dream... right now, i'm gathering those pieces and trying to start a new and better me... i know that i have to work double time now, i have to prove not only to my family but especially to myself, that i can do whatever i desire... i guess, i have to change my gameplan from now on... i really don't want to be a burden to my family anymore so i've decided to start hunting for a job... i want to continue my review but at my own expense... so in case somebody's reading this, a little referral would really be appreciated...

it all started when i tried exploring the wonders of different kinds of emulators (a system that enable the PC to run games of other consoles, such as PS, GBA, SNES). i first tried the emulator for Nintendo's SNES (ZSNES) where i started playing games such as Donkey Kong Jr., Mario's World and other Nintendo genre, then i shifted to the Game Boy Advance emulator (Visual Boy Advance) just to play Pokemon Gold... And then after my PlayStation broked down i started to gain interest on another type of emulator, that is the PlayStation emulator (ePSXe) where i actually finished games like, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy VIII and IX, and Legend of Legaia...

After a while, i suddenly found myself, downloading tons of roms for my emulators... and then one day, i became curious of one of the titles available for the SNES... that is HARVEST MOON... i said to myself, what kind of a stupid game is this? who would be intrested in planting crops, raising chickens and cows and then harvesting them to earn money?... but when i started playing it... gradually, it tooked most of my time wondering what will happen next...

the gameplay is simple... you played the role of a boy sent out by his family to an old ranch and his objective is to raise that ranch for 2 1/2 years. A full year consists of 4 seasons with 30 days each and you'll play each day for about 5 mins... it's all up to you to decide what to do next... it's either you chop woods, crush stones, pull out weeds, plant crops, raise chickens, brush and milk your cows, go to town festivals, relax in the mountain spa, play with your dog, ride your horse and the most intresting part here is you can court girls and then eventually marry her and have a maximum of 2 children... isn't it fun!!! yeah ... i know it's like the SIMS but with its own unique twist that made farming a little bit interesting and fun... right now, i've downloaded another version of this farming simulaton game... "Harvest Moon: Friends of the Mineral Town"... and this time it's on a different console, it's from the Game Boy Advance console... but i think, i'll never be able to play this game... because right now, i'm just wasting my free time, just enjoying the last minutes of my semi-vacation 'cause starting on monday (may 29) i'll be attending my review classes... and obviously, no more COMPUTERS for me, at least for the mean time... and i guess, the next update of this blog will be on october...

Although this move was really an indication that the US is really serious in reclaiming their title, i think the list of the players in this team still has a flaw. What they are missing... a legit Center (i was expecting Shaq or Ben Wallace), a big man to serve as their anchor in the post (where's Tim Duncun or Kevin Garnet?) and a pure three point shooter (perhaps Ray Allen or even Kyle Korver would do)... because International Basketball is a little bit different from the style of NBA games... it's more of a run and gun and most of the international players are very good, i mean really good in outside shooting... true, that the list of the players of the NBA has a high field goal percentage in the current regular season of the NBA, but the point is, the ring in the NBA is much wider as compared to the international ring thus, making it hard for the NBA stars to adjust. And this fact was proven in the performance of the US team last Olympics where they shoot terribly from the outside.

but i guess, that's the reason why as early as now, training camps for these players will be conducted.

it all boils down to a best of three show down after Purefoods Chunkee Giants managed to tie the best of seven series in the San Mig Coffee PBA Fiesta Conference Finals two games a piece... Coach Yeng Guiao of the Red Bull Barakos even stated after their two straight losses that the series is just starting, and not blaming his boys because he knew that his boys played their best... and then the next two games was history... the bench of the Red Bull Barakos showed what they're made of and helped the team in winning their 3rd championship since joining the PBA in 2000... Mick Pennisi and Cyrus Baguio stepped up and hit crucial shots to keep the Barakos' rally in the fourth quarter added by the strong performance of the Barakos' starters; James Penny, Enrico Villanueva and Lordy Tugade...

tons of errors, amplified by poor officiating was the main reason why the Seattle Seahawks lost in the recently concluded Super Bowl XL... it was so unlikely for the Seahawks to play that terrible considering that they've manage to play their A game throughout the entire season including the playoffs... but the truth is, Pittsburgh was just way too good for them... it was a tough ride for the entire franchise of the Steelers... they even end up in a position wherein a loss could end their season and hopes to make it to the playoffs... but against all odds, the team showed their unity and teamwork resulting to a magnificent game in the Super Bowl...

Survivor Panama: Exile Island... of which every week, at least one of them will be banished to one of the remote islands of Panama which they tagged as "Exile Island... the person that will be sent here will have to figure out how to survive with no food and shelter for as long as he/she be allowed to return back in the game... although it may seem to be very disadvantageous to that person because he/she will be very prone to be voted out in the tribal council simply because his/her tribesmate could create a plot against him/her, on the contrary, it would still become a major advantage for the simple reason that an immunity idol is hidden somewhere in this "Exile Island"... an immunity that will grant the bearer an assurance to make it to the final four...

a heart warming story that made a tear fell from my eyes... i really find it very unusual for me to cry while watching a film... but i guess, eventhough the story is a bit too simple, i was really carried away to it... i don't know why, but i could somehow relate to the story (of course, not being disabled... hehehe...) i guess, this is the main reason why i hate serious type of movies... cause it somehow leads me to shed a tear...

Synopsis:

James Robert Kennedy (Gooding, Jr.) -- nicknamed "Radio" because of his vintage radio collection and his love of music -- is a loner in Anderson, South Carolina, pushing his grocery cart up and down the streets. He speaks to no one and is rarely spoken to, until one day, Coach Harold Jones (Harris), one of the town's most respected men and coach of the popular high school football team, befriends him. Radio is suspicious at first. But Coach Jones is persistent, even enlisting the help of Radio's mother. Jones' friends and family are taken aback as well since, until he met Radio, all his energies were poured exclusively into football.

Slowly, Coach Jones earns Radio's trust and opens up a new world to him. He invites Radio to help out at football practice and during games and to sit in on his classes at school, despite the initial misgivings of Principal Daniels (Woodward). Coach Jones' life is also enriched by Radio, from whom he learns to value friendship and family ties as much as he does coaching football. Still, there are those in town who believe that the coach's devotion to the young man is distracting him from his duties as head coach. Coach Jones is finally forced to make a difficult decision, which will impact both his growing friendship with Radio and his career as a football coach.

26 at the first half and 55 after the intermission for a total of 81... that was the score posted by Kobe Bryant, enough to become the player who posted the second most scored points in 1 game behind the great Wilt Chamberlin's 100 points...

prior to this game, Kobe had already the oppurtunity in their game against Dallas to beat this record where he scored 62 points in just 3 quarters but Phil Jackson decided to sit him out the rest of the game because they(Lakers) are way ahead of Dallas... but this time, where the game is close and only Kobe having the hot hand, there's no way that Phil will let him sit out... the Staple Center is roaring, everyone is chanting MVP and gets excited every time Kobe has the ball and taking the shot... even his teammates symphatize with the crowd, they kept on giving the ball into Kobe's hands...

although they win against Toronto... it was really a bad sign for the Lakers, because if not for the heroic effort of Kobe, they would have lost that game... most of them couldn't find their shots, especially Lamar Odom...

it was a magnifecent day for the Filipino community across the globe... a historic event had happened... for the first time in the 6-year career of one of the legends of mexican boxing, Erik "El Terrible" Morales, kissed the canvas of the ring after yesterday's fight at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas with no other than, our very own, Manny "The PacMan" Pacquiao...

it was a seesaw fight from the very first round... in fact, Morales won the 4th, 5th, 6th and i think even the 7th round before Manny started to find his accuracy and ultimately knocking him out on the 10th round... it was too evident that one of the weaknesses of Morales was his body conditioning, because at the 8th and 9th round he was already worned out and began to breath from his mouth leaving an opening for Manny, who still looked as fresh as the first round, to continue his onslaught and launch barrage of punches...

one of the very obvious contribution to the victory of Manny was his improved weapon, his right hand jabs... it wasn't that explosive as his left hand but it's enough to keep Morales at bay...

after the bout, several sports anlaysts reacted about the fight... but the most intriguing comment i've heard was of i think coming from a filipino sprots analyst... he said that Manny won not because of the usual boxing technique but rather, he won by his street-fight style of boxing... he also said that most of the punches thrown by Manny never really hit Morales, Manny just keeps on punching at any direction hoping that one of them lands on the face or the body Morales... (eh ano naman!) whatever technique, as long as you win, it doesn't really matter... a win is a win...

yesterday was the start of another season of the NBA... and was also the start of the NBA Fantasy League... guess what??? i have a team signed-up for this simulation game... i've signed-up for two categories... first is the "league manager" category wherein you will create a 13 man team roster to compete against other players in your particular league... of course, i only joined the beginners lounge... there are a total of ten teams in my league... and each week i'll be going up against one of the teams participating in my league... what's great here is the scoring system, to explain it briefly... you'll win points by summing all the statitics(points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks) earned for the whole week by all the players in your roster in their real-time game... great isn't it??? and since this is based on real-time game and real-time players... you can't erase the probability that you're players will get injured so to solve this... the fantsy game will allow you to trade players with other teams in your league or you could just release the player and sign up a free agent... much like the real NBA transactions...

the other category i've joined is the "salary cap challenge"... here, you'll play as a team owner and manager in one and in some instances, you could also be the head coach of your team... you will be given $35M to buy your six man roster to compete against the other players in the game... you will earn points based on the performance of your players in the real world... the great thing here is that, if you're familiar with the stocks trading game of the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) and if you actually enjoyed it... i guess this game will become much more addictive to you because you can also earn more points, that are eventually turned into your total cash, by just buying and selling players... because every week, the players will be automatically priced by the game based on their actual performance... so meaning, you could treat this players as companies you want to invest in... of course, just like the stock trading game, there are tons of risk involved like players not able to play because of suspensions, coach's decision or injuries... this will definitely cause your total earnings to go down...

after nearly 3 months of competition... a new rockstar was born... after his stellar performance yesterday... J.D. Fortune (right) was chosen as the new lead vocalist of the world renowed Australian rock band... INXS...

it's just so sad that my bet Mig Ayesha (bottom pic, left), an Australian music artist with a Filipino blood, lost... although he consistently won the votes of the "Rockstar INXS" viewers for the past episodes, he just couldn't pull it off in the finale... in fact, he was the first one to be eliminated among the three finalists... surprising? not really... because both Marty (bottom pic, middle) and J.D. (bottom pic, right) performed magnificently and with a lot of style unlike Mig, who opted to sing Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody to prove INXS that he has already moved on from his theatrical past, unfortunately came up with a performance that sounded like it was too practiced...

well i guess, just like other people think, Mig is better off in broadway acts... maybe he's just not destined to become an instant rockstar...

torches had bin lit... the immunity idol is up for grabs again... the game is on... 18 new castaways are forced to uncover and utilize the mysterious culture of the once great Mayans for them to outwit, outplay, and outlast the treacherous jungle of Guatemala...

this season promises to be much tougher and much harder as compared to the past 10 seasons... and to prove it once and for all... the very first challenge of the castaways is a grueling 11 mile hike through the dangerous jungle of Guatemala going to their camp...

one of the surprises this season is the participation of two past Survivor contestants... Stephenie and Bobby Jon, both coming from Survivor Palau... although both of them came from the loosing tribe of Ulong, they have proven to be one of the fiercest survivor ever played the game... they are assigned to separate tribes, Stephenie to Yaxha and Bobby Jon to Nakum, both are expected to become a great asset to their respective tribes not only because of their experience but mainly because of the strength and determination they posses...

as expected... our team lost the Toyota Vios IMC Challenge... hehehe... i guess, the 5 teams who advanced to the finals did a hell of a job to make their respective IMC plans a very unique and a very creative one...

athough we lost this contest, still, it really benefited me a lot because... (1) it served as my simulation for my future career, because i've experienced working and teaming up with people whom i barely even know... (2) i've experienced working under time pressure... imagine, working straight from 12 nn - 7 am just to meet the deadline... and of course (3) i've met new friends of which i consider the best reward i got from this competition...

This photo was taken before our Interview with our Dean... It was shot in front of the Deans Office and behind us is a stairway... Notice the mysterious orb in this picture (top-middle)??? What does it signify??? Is it some sort of an unknown element or entity??? Some websites like SFOGS (Singapore First Online Ghost Stories) posts more pictures that have this kind of orb... they say that these orbs are lost souls who roam around us...

I suddenly remembered a ghost story about this location (NRH building)... some say that a ghost of a student is frequently seen roaming around the 2nd floor corridor of this building and sometimes in the stairway heading to the library... Does this orb represent the ghost of that student?

darn... i've been listening to this song for almost a hundred times now... and it feels kinda strange... it seems that i'm being haunted by my past... i suddenly remembered the times when my love life was always being screwed... and suddenly remembered all the women who shattered my life and tore me into pieces... man, this song is one heck of a "senti" type (of course, only for those who could relate to it)...

Jason Mraz... one of my favorite music artists is back again in the music scene with his latest album entitled "Mr. A-Z" along with it's carrier single "Wordplay"(listen)... in the music video (watch) of this single, Mraz showed the funny side of his life... it was so darn good that you'll eventually find yourself laughing out loud especially before the video ends when blood squirts out of his shoulder... the lyrics of this song really described the personality of Jason... but who the heck is Jason Mraz? just read this biography, coming from the man himself:

As biographies go, I should tell you about where and how I was raised in Mechanicsville, Virginia. I should tell you how I manifested my creative wild side while my parents were busy divorcing, working, and remarrying. I should explain the kinds of pop music I listened to, whether it was on the oldies stations or the same explosive jam stations that presented star-studded skate nights in my rural community rinks. It would be wise to mention a minor stint in musical theatre before picking up the guitar in those Big Apple college years, as well as discuss what eventually brought my C average up to an A when I found a voice to follow which eventually carried my heart and soul to the salty streets of San Diego. It’s a good story really, but it’s been told time and time again and I’m about tired of answering questions about the mischievous psychic in central park. It definitely sounds like a sequel to my first album, “WAITING FOR MY ROCKET TO COME,” only this time I used a slightly different octane of rocket fuel and had a greater amount of time to prepare its launch. Though I’ve collaborated with both my touring band and people whose influences have always affected my musical ear – such as my producer Steve Lillywhite – this album is all Mraz from beginning to end, from alpha to omega, from the frontal lobe to the reptilian membrane… from A to Z. just finished the Naruto movie volume 1 entitled "It's the Yukihime's(Snow Princess) ninja arts book!!"... but i'm a little disappointed about it because probably i've expected too much... i thought i'll see some new moves from naruto and sasuke... and i thought sakura will become much stronger and will finally fight all her heart out, just like her other teammates... but nothing really exceptional happened, except for the new moves that their enemies showed which eventually was copied by kakashi using his sharingan... it seems like it's just one of it's tv series, or maybe the tv series is much more fun to watch...

looking on the brighter side... probably the creators tried to leave from the plot of the main story but are too carefull so as not to disrupt the flow of the entire naruto series (tv series) because basically, this movie was set between Naruto returning from training with Jiraiya and Sasuke’s departure from the team. If you don't know what i'm talking about, here's a very brief summary of the story of naruto: (episode 1 upto 130's and up)

Twelve years ago, the hidden leaf village of Konoha was under attack by Kyuubi, a fearsome demon fox. Unable to defeat the beast, Yondaime, the Fourth Hokage, sealed it away in the body of an infant.
That boy is Naruto, who survived and grew, feared by his fellow villagers. This isolation instilled him with a passion to be recognized as the greatest fighter. His ambition is to become the Hokage, master ninja of Konoha.
Though Naruto is slow at using his powers, the fox demon grants him inhuman stamina. Coupled with his natural determination, Naruto graduates to becoming a Genin, the first level of ninja.
For his training, he is grouped with Sakura, a precocious female ninja, and Sasuke, the sole remaining member of the Uchiha tribe.
The team begins at odds. Naruto is immediately jealous that Sakura is so enamored with the brooding Sasuke, and bitter that ninjitsu (the art of channeling chakra energy into attacks) comes so easily to both his teammates.
However, under their teacher Kakashi, the three Genin learn to work together, and soon progress to the Chuunin exams.
Here they meet a variety of other ninja from the surrounding countries of Sand, Sound, and Mist.
Though the exam is meant to strengthen relation between countries, it becomes the catalyst for Orochimaru, an exiled ninja, to initiate war. Using ninja from the country of Sand and Sound, Orochimaru infiltrates the exam, and kills Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, current leader of Konoha. As Sarutobi’s ex-student, Orochimaru wants nothing more than to see Konoha in turmoil, and Hokage fall from grace.
Though he is one of the three Sennin, great ninja from Konoha, Orochimaru doesn’t escape the battle against the Third Hokage unscathed. His arms are disabled, leading him to seek out his fellow Sennin, Tsunade, who is an expert healer.
Seeing what a fiend Orochimaru has become, Tsunade does not agree to treat him. Instead, she joins her old teammate Jiraiya (the final Sennin) and Naruto. Tsunade is inducted as the new Hokage of Konoha, leading the battle against Orochimaru and the Sound 5 ninja.
However, Orochimaru’s aims change. As his body has been damaged, he seeks to capture Sasuke and possess him. Hungry for power, Sasuke agrees. Sasuke joins Orochimaru because he is impatient to kill his brother, Itachi.
Itachi killed his own family, and the entire Uchiha tribe, leaving only Sasuke alive. Exiled from the hidden villages, Itachi is now a rogue ninja, part of the feared
organization of Akatsuki. This group is after Naruto for the demon within him.
Though Naruto pursues Sasuke, nearly losing control of Kyuubi, he is nearly killed by his friend. Sasuke believes murdering Naurto will grant him power, but when the opportunity presents itself, he can’t bring himself to slaughter Naruto.
Once he’s recovered from the battle, Naruto, Jiraiya and Sakura infiltrate Orochimaru’s base to reclaim Sasuke.

and for those who haven't seen the movie, here's a summary of it:

The fame of actress Fujikaze Yukie is sweeping the country. Known as the character "Princess Fuun", she is adored by millions. However, she doesn’t appreciate her glory. She scoffs at fans that ask for autographs, and refuses to film in the Snow Country. Kakashi, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura are hired to be Yukie’s bodyguards. She tries to avoid them, but Naruto, as always, is determined to do his job as a ninja. Yukie is taken by force to The Snow Country, where she continues to try to escape. Soon it becomes clear that it isn’t simple contempt for fame that’s making her run: Yukie is a true princess. When she was young, her brother attacked his own family in order to claim the thrown. Yukie fled and lived as an actress for many years. She has no interest in returning and saving her homeland from her brother’s tyrannical reign. But her manager, the ex-councilor for the Snow Country, believes that Yukie is the rightful heir, and fights for her at the cost of his life. While Yukie’s brother sees no threat from her because she is so apathetic toward the country, he kidnaps her and Naruto in order to secure the Hexagonal Ice Crystal. This crystal is said to be the key to the Snow Country’s greatest weapon. Yukie hands over the crystal without question. Though she is bitter and resentful toward the Snow Country, seeing Naruto fight so valiantly for her begins to warm Yukie’s heart. At the last moment, she attacks her brother. He is undamaged, and quickly escapes so he can use the Hexagonal Crystal to unlock the Snow Country’s weapon. Though Naruto pursues him, Yukie’s brother succeeds, and uses the key. However, what the key unlocks is not a weapon at all. It is a natural generator that warms the village. The harsh landscape becomes green, and Naruto defeats Yukie’s brother, allowing her to take her rightful place on the throne. Understanding what it means to take responsibility, Yukie becomes a kind leader to her country, as well as continuing her acting career.

Naruto Movie Volume 2 entitled The illusion of the ruins of the depths of the earth!! will be coming out soon on Japanese theaters... rumors came out after the release of the first movie in August 21st last year... and now, based on Narutofan.com, this movie will be released on August 6 in Japan... according to them, sasuke will not be included in the movie instead, shikamaru will be the third member of the team plus the ninjas coming from the sand village, namely gaara and kankorou will make their appearance... and to further spoil things up, here is the plot summary of the movie:

Naruto, Shikamaru, and Sakura are on a mission to return a lost pet, BUT in the middle of their journey an enigmatic boy knight commands a group of temu people to attack them. Because of the hard battle, the 3 get all roughed up. In a final effort to end the battle Naruto goes all out on the Temu people, but then falls off of a cliff with them. Faced with a huge moving fortress infront of him, Shikamaru has to rescue them. In order for Shikamaru to get a hold of the situation, he has to infiltrate the fortress. But in doing so, Shikamaru witnesses a frightening scene....

can't wait to get my hands on that naruto movie volume 2 copy... whether it may be an original dvd or a pirated vcd...

Shaman King is the story of Asakura Yoh, a shaman, and his quest to become the Shaman King. Along the way, Yoh meets a boy, Manta, who has the ability to see spirits, an unusual feat for a human, attempts to find a powerful spirit that will be his main spirit and must withstand intense training from his fiancée, Anna, who dreams of living an easy life as the wife of the Shaman King. He also meets numerous friends along the way.

Shamans have the ability to possess spirits and then utilize the power and skills of the spirit to fight. One of the interesting things, though, is that a Shaman’s power does not all come from the spirit he possesses, but is a combination of the Shaman’s ability and the spirit’s ability, hence Anna’s insistence on training. With more training, the Shaman and his spirit become more comfortable with each other and can utilize greater attacks in battle.

As humanity has developed, they have forgotten the spirits and have acted out of desire. The Shaman King is the Shaman who can unite with the Seirei no Ou, or King of Spirits to lead the world back to the right path. The Shaman King will become the world’s Savior and reinstate the harmony that once existed. Apparently, there are a good number of Shaman out for the title of Shaman King, to the point where there are even competitions to see who is the strongest. Being of Asakura heritage, Yoh may be a great rival, but he certainly isn’t strong enough… at least initially.

Yoh is a great character. He is very laid back and rarely lets his emotions get the better of him. He fights for what he believes in and to protect his friends. The best way I can describe him is that he’s mastered Zen philosophy. He can sit for hours thinking of absolutely nothing and believes that there is no point to worrying. Things will happen they way they do regardless of whether he sleeps or doesn’t. Anna’s pretty much the same way, except that she does worry about Yoh – not that she’d let him see that. The two have an odd relationship. Yoh’s scared of Anna and will do what she tells him and Anna constantly pushes Yoh to get better and better. She doesn’t seem as though she’s capable of showing him how much she cares or maybe she’s just scared he will let her down if he cannot become the Shaman King. Still, she believes strongly in him and shows she cares in odd ways like making him new clothes.

The Shaman Fight is a tournament that takes place once every 500 years. An Oversoul is a technique whereby a shaman can shape his spirit into form. They do this by consuming materialization energy known as Furiyoku. During the Fight, Shamans battle one another until their Oversouls fade and all their Furyoku is used up. The shaman who uses all of his Furyoku first is the loser.

The Shaman Fight preliminaries and getting to Patch Village, where the Shaman Fight will be held make up about half of this series. The other half is the actual Shaman Fight itself. Of course, it’s not quite that easy, and the Shaman Fight has other implications that Yoh and his friends discover along the way.

darn it!!!... i missed the finale of The Contender... i thought it will be aired on its usual timeslot which is every monday at 10 pm.... well i'm definitely wrong... cause it was scheduled last wednesday (May 25) at 11 pm - 1 am on AXN... anyway... past is past... all i can do now is watch for its replay... but for those who doesn't want to wait for the replay... you'll definitely want to read this episode recap... although the photo below is enough for you to figured out who the winner is...

Live from Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the crowd -- filled with celebrities and regular fans alike -- roared with excitement as things got immediately underway. The 14 previous contenders were also present to cheer on their comrades.

Before the main event, the bronze match was announced. Jesse would go head-to-head against Alfonso. After a brief press conference and a crowd-pleasing recap of Alfonso and Jesse's Contender experiences, the two fighters took to the ring. And both came out swinging.
Even before the end of the fifth intense round, Alfonso was raising his hands in victory. He seemed certain he would claim the $200,000 bronze prize. Ultimately, the judges agreed and by a very close margin, Alfonso was declared the winner. Then it was on to the main event.

The Latin Snake and The Pride of Providence entered the arena to screams of adulation from the capacity crowd. The bell sounded Round One and Sergio landed the first strong punch of the fight. By the end of Round Two, Manfredo had hit Sergio after the bell, firing Sergio up even more.

Manfredo looked tired and clung to Sergio for most of the remaining rounds. When the crowd began chanting "Sergio, Sergio," Mora seem reenergized and landed some powerful blows. At the top of Round Five, Sergio got distracted in Manfredo's corner and threw out some trash talk, which surprised the commentators and crowd.

In Round Seven, both competitors dug deep and found new strength. Body punches flew. Jabs. Upper-cuts. Despite their exhaustion, neither fighter would give up. The crowd moved from the edge of their seats to their feet. After the final bell, it was time for the judges' decision, but it was clear The Latin Snake from East Los Angeles had fought the battle of his life. The decision was unanimous and Sergio Mora was named THE CONTENDER.

With over 20 volumes of manga, over 100 television episodes, and at last count, five feature films, Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece is a juggernaut of a franchise in Japan. Since the beginning of the manga in 1997, the offbeat and adventurous tale of a young boy’s journey to become the King of Pirates has captured the hearts (and not to mention wallets) of millions of Japanese readers and viewers. American companies have seen this profit potential and both the One Piece manga (licensed by Viz and currently running Shonen Jump) and television series (licensed by Funimation with an unknown airdate) are being brought over the States. Perhaps now would be a good time to take a critical look at the manga which started the piratey craze that may soon engulf your local comic shop.

The premise of the manga isn’t all that complicated: as a young man of 17, Monkey D. Luffy sets sail from his home town in order to find the legendary treasure One Piece, and thereby become the Pirate King. However, the world has apparently entered the Age of Pirates, so Luffy isn’t going to be the only pirate seeking One Piece. But what makes Luffy different from other contenders is that, as a child, he ate a magical fruit and now has a body of rubber…which may not seem like a very good ability, but Luffy puts it to good use by deflecting bullets, inflating himself as a balloon, and stretching his limbs to extreme lengths and then snapping them back, creating an effect a million times more powerful than any rubber band. Of course, there’s no such thing as a solitary pirate, so Luffy gathers such entertaining crew members as Roronoa Zoro the napping swordsman, Nami the thieving navigator, Usopp the lying sniper, and Sanji the womanizing chef. And they all set sail for the Grand Line, where One Piece is said to be.

Many years ago, the mountain village of Konoha was devastated by a nine-tailed demon. To destroy it, the village gathered ninjas together to battle the demon and in the end, one ninja, known as the Fourth Hokage, gave up his life to seal away the powers of the fox demon within a young boy: Uzumaki Naruto. Naruto, a boisterous pest with a good heart who dreams to someday be Hokage, the strongest ninja in the village. After nearly failing his pre-ninja exams, he is set in a team with Uchiha Sasuke, his number one rival, and Haruno Sakura, his number one crush (being that HE has a crush on HER) to fufill tasks set by their mysterious, but amusing, training master Hatake Kakashi. But unbeknownst to his team, minus Kakashi (who really isn't on the team anyway, but who wants to get technical?), Naruto's a lot stronger and fated for much more than his big mouth lets on.

How many times have we seen this? Boy of not-so-appealing personality has amazing strength that only those priviledged few know of, but meanwhile, he gets tossed into a lot of situations where he can fight and practice some really interesting logic while he struggles to reach the goal of being the best. Naruto is one of those slow-fast series. The main storyline moves slow, hindered by an abundance of characters, who make up for the fast and furious action scenes. Kishimoto, however, balances the fast and the slow rather well, so there's not much time for boredom, minus the few times that the dialogue just gets garbly and leaves the reader with their mouth hanging open hoping that maybe the addresse will punch the addresser just to spice things up. The one thing so far that sets Naruto apart from other standard shounen series about being "the best(!!!)" is the amount of drama that Kishimoto tosses in. The amounts of angst are almost enough to satisfy a shoujo manga. Don't get me wrong though - this is not Neon Genesis Evangelion. Yet, while this setup has been seen a million times and then some in the anime.manga world, Naruto is strangely addictive. This is to be blamed upon the humour, which ranges from the usual perverted humour (Kakashi reading his "Make-Out Paradise" - or "Come Come Paradise" depending on your translator - novels is probably my favorite.) to you usual simply insulting the other party humour, as well as the strange diversity of the cast. It's these two factors that really keep this series alive and kicking....no pun intended.

I've heard a GAME being cancelled because of different kinds of problems... problems like heavy rain, snow, storms/typhoons, bomb threats, riots and some other technical problems.

But what's this... a FULL SEASON of games being cancelled??? yes indeed... the National Hockey League (NHL) season has been cancelled due to cap salary disagreements by team owners and the players association...

Right now... meetings discussing the continuity of the league are being made... i hope that they solve this problem...

after 11 episodes... the remaining contestants finally cross the finish line... and the married couple Uchenna and Joyce emerged as the winners of the Amazing Race 7...

it was really a very close and exciting finish... the best so far as compared to the previous races because finally the race had not been decided of who gets the best flight going to the final destination... and so far, my favorite, cause i have my bet as to who will win since the beginning of the race... that is the Survivor Couple: Rob and Amber but unfortunately they only finished second...

in this race... it's like a battle between good and evil... Good: Uchenna and Joyce because throughout the race, they always make it a point that they don't hurt somebody's feelings and help those who are in need (Meridith and Gretchen) and they played far more honest as compared to the other contestants... Evil: Rob and Amber in the sense that they are the most hated couple... why? because they seem to carry their so called "Survivor Strategies" which is to lie and cheat... but at the end... good have once again prevailed...

i think... the fast forward challenge in India really blessed Uchenna and Joyce... wherein the team have to perform a tribal ritual (shaving their hair) to ask for blessings... and obviously... it worked...

the third team to finish is the team of Ron and Kelly... just like Adam and Rebecca of the previous Amazing Race... they spent most of the race fighting and shouting at each other... is this some kind of a trend?

After all the hardwork and sacrifices... like staying awake all night just to figure out how to make the flash movies work on the internet... searching all day for a webhosting server that has no ads or banners that can also support FTP... searching for cool stuff to add on our site... the tedious reading of the tutorials of Macromedia Softwares (Dreamweaver and Flash)... the annoying internet disconnections while uploading and downloading files... the numerous virus, adwares and hijackers that entered my system because of searching for cracks of the softwares that i've downloaded (Flash MX and AudioRecordWizard) that forced me to reformat my hard disk... studying and customizing the complicated HTML codes of the FORUM site... and of course... spending most of the time thinking of designs and contents to be placed on our site...

But based on the comments that i received from my classmates... i can say that it's all worth the effort... and it also fuels my determination and creativity on improving this site... how i wish i could somehow discover the mystery of the testimonial system... all i can do now is search for a tutorial on this...

I just want to thank all the people who helped and inspired me on creating this project... First off... to my girlfriend... because of their project (she asked me if i can create their website) i became interested in publishing customized website and also for forcing me to learn how to create a marquee effect... next... to my sister... who always criticize my work that made me more design concious... to Michelle... for providing the student directory and some of the articles included in the site... to Sir Paeng for giving me the url for the forum and chatterbox... and of course... to all of my BSA classmates... because without you guys... this site will never exist...

haaay... tagal kong nabakasyon dito sa aking blog... pero first things first... i'd like to congratulate all my friends who graduated this year... especially to my friends in FEU... teka... di naman nila to mababasa ah... pero anyway, i just want to give them a small tribute... i will post their pictures here in my blog... hehehe...

ito ang aking mga original na tropa dito sa feu... simula nung second year first sem ay kasama ko na ang mga ito... nahiwalay lang kami ni mark dahil kami lang ang pinalad na makapasa sa quali... grabe... ang daming mga masasayang alaala ang nagfaflash-back sakin ngayon... kapag magkakasama kami... hindi nauubos ang tawanan... asaran... barahan... inuman... at kung ano-ano pang kaabnormalan... kapag may okasyon (birthday)... madalas kaming nagoovernyt sa bahay nung celebrant... pero minsan kapag hindi pwedeng magovernyt... umuuwi kami kahit magaalasdos na ng umaga... at dahil na rin sa masyadong malalayo ang mga bahay namin... para tuloy laging may field trip... haaayyy... namimiss ko na nga ang asaran at kantahan habang nagiinuman... mga talentado kasi sa paggigitara ang iba sa kanila kaya hayun... walang humpay ang aming kantahan hanggang sa may mabangag at may magsuka...

ito ang iba ko pang malalapit na kaibigan... kapag di ko kasama yung mga ungas na tropa ko eh sila ang aking nakakasama... yung tatlong nauna (dito sa picture na to) sila ang madalas kong kagroup nung second year first sem... naalala ko tuloy yung play na ginawa namin para sa lit... hahaha... talagang nagkalat ako dun... lumabas talaga ang pagiging nerbyoso ko... pero dahil din sa project na yon... nabuo ang iba't-ibang relasyon... dito ako nagkaroon ng bestfriend na babae... pero di rin nagtagal ang aming pagiging magbestfriend... sa kadahilanang... wala lang... hehehe... umalis din siya ng feu at lumipat ng school... yung dalawa sa taas... sa bahay namin nagsimula ang kanilang pagmamahalan... ahehehehe... iyon ay dahil sa star gazing... subalit may kanya-kanya na silang karelasyon ngayon... yung isa sa baba (left side) siya ang sumunod na naging bestfriend ko... pero muli... di ulit nagwork ang aming pagiging magbestfriend... sayang at ang iba ko pang kagrupo ay lumipat ng school o nagshift ng ibang course pagtapos nung quali... yung dalawang huli... sila ay kabilang sa mga kaunaunahan kong naging klasmeyt sa feu... actually tropa ng sister ko yang dalawang yan... yung pinaka huli... cum laude ng BSCFA... nakapasa sya nung 2nd take niya nung quali pero di nya tinuloy at nanatili sya sa course nya...

sila naman ang mga minsa'y naging malalapit kong kaibigan... siguro hanggang ngayon (para sakin ewan ko nalang sa kanila)... hehehe...

muli... congratulations sa mga grumadweyt ngayong year na to... gud luck sa career... sana'y magkita-kita tayong muli... at sa pagkikita nating yon, nawa'y kapwa tayong matagumpay sa ating kanya-kanyang buhay...

grabeh... matagal ko nang di nauupdate tong blog ko... para kasing nawalan na ko ng ganang magisip ng pwedeng maipost dito... para kasing wala namang kakaibang nangyayari sa buhay ko... matapos yung marketing plan... parang bumalik na naman ako sa aking nakakatamad na buhay... hanggang ngayon, naninibago parin ako... namimiss ko na kasi ang umuwi ng hating-gabi... umaalis ng bahay kapag walang pasok para pumunta sa bahay ng kaklase... namimiss ko na rin ang mga awayan namin nung mga kagrupo ko... namimiss ko narin yung asaran sa classroom about dun sa marketing plan... at higit sa lahat... namimiss ko nang magpuyat... lagi na kasi akong maagang natutulog eh... alas 9 o alas 10 inaantok na ko... di karulad nung dati na kahit alas 3 na ng umaga buhay na buhay pa dugo ko... haaaayyyyy... tunay ngang bumalik na sa normal ang buhay ko...

pero kahit bumalik na sa normal ang pangaraw-araw na pamumuhay ko... meron akong napansing pagbabago sa sarili ko... napansin narin ito ng aking mga katropa...

napansin kong... hindi na pala ako yung dating nanalo as mr. chismoso... sabi nga ni aaron... humina na raw ang radar ko... napansin din nila michelle na parang ang tahimik ko na raw... hindi magsasalita kung hindi kakausapin... nagtataka nga rin ako sa sarili ko eh... lagi kong tinatanong kung bakit...

sa aking pagmumuni-muni... narealize kong... natutuhan ko nang magpahalaga sa mga lihim na sinasabi sa akin ng aking kapwa... natutuhan ko na ang kahalagahan ng pagtitiwala ng mga taong nagsasabi ng lihim... pero nagtitiwala nga ba talaga sila o sadyang pareho lang kami ng landas na tinatahak dati... landas ng pagiging chismoso... pero kahit ano pa man ang dahilan... masaya pa rin ako na kahit papano ay may natutunan ako tungkol sa aking sarili...

haaayyyy... iniisip ko palang napapagod na ko... pano ba naman... bukas babalik kami ng grupo ko sa Dagupan para humingi ng additional information na kaylangan namin para matapos namin ang aming marketing plan... sana lang meron na silang maibigay... ang masaya dito 9 pm ang uwi ko ngayon at nataong wala kaming tutulugan o pagpapalipasan ng gabi na medyo malapit sa bus terminal... so uuwi pa 2loy ako ng bahay... mga 10 na siguro ako makakarating ng bahay... tapos kaylangan alas 4 kami magkita-kita sa terminal so mga 2 ng umaga gumising nako para makagayak at makaalis ng 3... pagkatapos nun, kaylangan naming lumuwas agad ng manila dahil required daw kaming manood ng play sa CCP... 8 ng gabi yun so kaylangang umalis kami sa Dagupan ng hindi lalampas sa 1 ng hapon para kahit matraffic ay umabot kami o makauwi sa bahay para makaligo at makapagpalit ng damit... tapos kaylangan naming masummarize yung mga survey results at maayos na yung mga kaylangan ipasa on saturday... huhuhu... kaylangan ko pa kasing gumising ng maaga sa sabado para makasabay ko honey ko para makuha ko yung survey nya sa scul niya... eh sa tingin ko kasi baka 10 pm na matatapos yung play so baka 11-12 na me makauwi d2 samin eh kaylangang 4:30 ng umaga ako magising para masabayan ko siya... at hindi pa dun natatapos ang hirap... sa sunday... gagawa kami ng banner para dun sa JPIA week... at pagkatapos nun.... haaayyy ayoko ng isipin...

teka... midterm exam nga pala namin ngayon sa special topics baka pati narin sa auditing... huhuhu... di pa ko nagaaral... stock knowledge nanaman (sana lang merong nakastock)... makapagbasa na nga...

and the winners of the AMAZING RACE 6...... the engaged models Freddy and Kendra......

i've just watched the season finale of the Amazing Race and i think it was the most thrilling finish compared to the past 5 season... it was really a neck to neck battle for both the team of freddy and kendra and the 1st runner up team- Kris and Jon... but again, as compared with the past seasons, it all comes down as to who gets the best/ fastest flight to the last destination... Kris and Jon arrived at the Honolulu Airport and have booked their flight to Chicago on the American Airline but Freddy and Kendra managed to book an earlier flight which is on the United Airlines... From then on, Freddy and Kendra never looked back... although when you're watching, it may seem that Kris and Jon had a chance to take the lead... the part where Freddy and Kendra are having a difficult time in locating the finish line which is the "Ping Tom Park" while Kris and Jon have found a cab, quickly after they have finished their task (eating a whole very thick pizza), that knows where the park is... and scene's wherein both teams are running towards the entrance of the park... and the TRAIN crossing that made Kris and Jon stop and gave Freddy and Kendra the cushion they needed.

oh and by the way, the team of Adam and Rebecca was the 2nd runner up... after reaching the 11th pitstop (still in China), beating the team of Haden and Aaron, they never really recovered from their large gap to the two teams... but i'm really surprised that they finished 3rd in the race considering that almost two thirds of the race, they are always fighting and shouting at each other...

after three weeks... THE AMAZING RACE 7 will be aired... and because of the controversy that happened before airing TAR 6 wherein the participants of the race was already revealed by a newspaper... TAR 6 already released a sneak preview of TAR 7 reavealing the 11 new teams which includes the winner and runner-up of Survivor All-Stars Amber Brkich and fiance Rob Mariano...

So why is it that The Amazing Race is the best reality show on the US?... not only because they have participants coming from the "Survivor" which is one of their contenders... hehehe... but because TAR is like National Geographic or Discovery Channel because TAR gives you a quick lesson on cultures and customs of different countries or cities as the 11 teams battle it out for 1 million dollar...

after 11 episodes... from 11 teams of two, 4 teams were left in the ultimate race around the world... The Amazing Race... here's what happened to the last episode:

the language barrier became a critical issue as Teams made their way to Shanghai, China. Unable to properly communicate where they needed to go, long-distance dating couple Kris & Jon, uncharacteristically frustrated, fell to the back of the pack when their driver got lost on the way to the Roadblock and the Detour. Their only saving grace came when engaged models Freddy & Kendra exacted their revenge on formerly dating couple Adam & Rebecca by Yielding them to a last-place finish. However, Adam & Rebecca remained in the Race as this was the last pre-determined non-elimination leg.

who will win the race and take home 1 million dollars... don't forget to watch the the 2 hour season finale on Wednesday (Philippine Time) with a live telecast on Studio 23 at 10:00 am and a primetime telecast at 9:oo pm and also on AXN at 8:00 pm with replays on sunday at 10:00 am and 7:00 pm

Dagupan: a different kind of experience

its been almost a month since we went to Dagupan to conduct a research about the city's Bangus Festival... but upto now, my experience there will last in my memories for as long as i live... so what really happened there that made me never forget Dagupan? Here's my story:

thursday - we planned to leave early next morning... and because it was also my friends birthday, i've decided to go to his party instead of staying in the apartment of one of my group members to spent the night away.... we thought that Dagupan is so far that we decided to go to the bus terminal as early as 1:30 in the morning... i'm so sleepy because i'm partially drunk... when we arrive at the terminal... the bus to Dagupan is scheduled to leave... only when they are totally filled with passengers... and base on the people present there... it would take some time for it to be filled... suddenly a man (conductor of the bus going to Baguio) approached us... offered as an alternative route if we really are on a hurry... still thinking that Dagupan is far... we decided to accept the man's proposal... at 2 am... we left Manila... are route: Manila-Urdaneta Pangasinan, then we have to transfer to another bus from Urdaneta-Dagupan...

inside the bus... everyone (i think) is somewhat excited... after a while... my excitement rised up and i'm almost chilling... but not because we are almost at our destination but because i want to get off the bus as quickly as possible because... its too damn COLD inside!!!!!!...

after that chilling ride... we get off the bus... and because im too excited to get off from that freaking bus... i didn't notcice the number of steps the bus have... my foot slipped because it stepped at the edge of one of the steps and almost slide out of the door... but luckily i managed to hang on the railings...

at Urdaneta, we are waiting for a bus that is bound to Dagupan... 15 mins... and still no sign of a bus... suddenly a jeepney stopped in front of us... and yes... it is going to Dagupan... so we decided to take that opportunity... inside the jeepney... i smell something fishy!!! (literally)... damn, it smells like were in a market... it seems that the jeepney had just delivered bangus in a nearby market in Urdaneta...

after 20-30 mins of that smelly ride... we finally arrived at our destination - DAGUPAN... but we noticed that something's wrong... we expected to see busy streets and people flocking from one place to another... we expected to see markets and malls full of people... but what's this??? all of the business establishments are closed... streets are almost empty... we look at our clock and......... what???? it's only 6:30 in the morning???? i knew something was wrong...

we started walking around hoping to find a place to stay... and then we found a park... luckily, it has benches and some sets of chairs and tables... so we stayed there... brought out the foods that we have and started eating... at that time... i brought out my GAME BOY and try to make it work... and because of my perserverance i miracolously make it worked and i started playing...

8 o'clock... we decided to search for a computer shop to type the survey questions we need... we finished and photocopied it and then decided to go to the city hall because our schedule for interview was at 9:00...

inside the city hall... we went to their tourism department office... unfortunately, the person that we expected to meet is unavailable because she went to Makati for an emergency meeting, but she left us with three tour guides... actually they are just trainees... but i guess, we are still lucky becuase those three are simply marvelous... they exerted all their best to help us out in conducting our interviews with their city officials... they also toured us around Dagupan... and showed us all the best Dagupan can offer...

we finished touring around Dagupan at around 1:00 in the afternoon... we're so exhausted and hungry so we decided to find a fast food chain... we first went inside the mall near the city hall but all the fast food chains there are full... then we saw a KFC store across the mall and decided to just eat there...

after eating... we decided to continue with our research and then we head back to the city hall... and then something unexpected happened... as we cross the street... suddenly... a kid bumped me from behind... i just look at him and didn't bother... after we crossed the street... one of our tour guide... noticed that the pouch of my back bag was open... the first thing that came into my mind was my.... GAME BOY!!!!!! cause i've mistakenly placed it in there... unfortunately... it was gone... at first... i try not to think about it... even comforting myself saying "its alright"... but as time pass by... i started to realize that my mother will get mad at me 'cause that GameBoy wasn't really mine... it's was my litlle brother's... so i started thinking of ways of how to cover up for it... since then, i've lost not only the GameBoy but my focus to our research as well... when we are interviewing the city planner... whenever i look at him it seems that his face looks like my GameBoy... and my enthusiasm is just simply diminishing... i started feeling mentally drained and physically exhausted... i just want to finish the research and interviews quickly and go home...

we finsihed all the interviews at around 7:00 in the evening... at the terminal... the bus is waiting for passengers to fill all up their seats... at that time... i'm trying to forget that unlucky event... the bus left at around 8:00 and arrived at manila at around 12:00 in the morning...

at home... the first thing that i did was told my mom of what happened... and i guess my mom was not in the mood to scold me 'cause she's so sleepy... but the next morning... the interogation starts... lucky for me... my class was at 7:30 in the morning so i was spared... hehehe...

that event really tatooed on my mind... i guess, everybody is entitled to a first time... come to think of it... it's been almost 4 years that i've walked the harsh environment of Manila and i've never experienced that kind of event... compared to a 6-8 hours of stay in Dagupan... thus, making a conclusion that "Dagupan is a haven of thieves"...

haaayyyy.... sa wakas nakapagupdate na rin ako... masyado kasing busy ang schedule ko... actually pwede naman akong magupdate dahil kahit papaano nakakapag internet ako everyday... yun nga lang wala akong maisip na isulat dito... tapos medyo naaadik na naman ako sa computer games... particularly sa mga online games... simula nung matapos kong idownload ung game client ng MU... ayun nagsimula na ang paglaki ng interes ko sa paglalaro nito... nakabili na nga ako ng prepaid card ng game na un... masyado kasi akong natuwa... tapos gumawa ako ng account sa halos lahat ng online games ngayon... TANTRA... KHAN... PRISTONTALE... pati narin GUN BOUND... haaaayyyy... pero MU pa rin ang masnilalaro ko sa mga yan... may bayad na kasi yung sa Khan kaya di ko na nalalaro... tapos ang baba pa ng level ko kaya tinamad na talaga ako... yung sa Tantra naman kapag tinatamad na ko sa paglalaro ng MU tsaka ko lang sya nilalaro... level 16 pa nga lang yung character ko dun... maabutan na ako ni RJ na naadik na rin sa Tantra... Yung Pristontale naman, di ko pa talaga nalalaro, di pa nga ako nakakagawa ng character... si Mark nga lang ang naaliw dun...

Pero lagi ko na lang naitatanong sa sarili ko kung bakit marami ang nahuhumaling sa mga nagsusulputang online games ngayon? Kung iisipin, masyadong magastos ang paglalaro nito... magkano ang isang oras ng pagrerent ng PC? -P20... tapos kaylangan mo pang bumili ng card nung game para malaro mo sya... yung sa MU ang mga available card denominations nila ay: 20,50,100,350... yung P100 na card equivalent to 20 hours... tapos last month, since kakaintroduce palang nila nung pay-per-play nagpromo sila... doble ung time... kaya naging 40 hours... at ngayon... ginawa na nilang unlimited access ang 100 at 350 top-up cards nila... 1 week and 1 month respectively...

Kung may sariling PC ka naman sa bahay... sa unang tingin, parang makakamura ka... kasi di mo na kaylangan pang magbayad ng P20 per hour sa Internet Cafe... pero actually mas magastos pa pag sa bahay... una, kaylangan mo ng internet connection- its either prepaid or plan... pagprepaid, siyempre kaylangan mong bumili ng prepaid internet card... dahil Blast ang ginagamit ko... un na lang ang ieexample ko... (sabihin pa raw ba kung saan nakakabili ng mura... hehehehe...) yung P100 na card ay equivalent to 12 hours... pero may catch... half day unlimited internet access sila, from 12 AM to 2 PM, for 15 days from the first log-in... kaya medyo matipid... pero meron paring ibang prepaid card providers na may mas maganda pang offer... pero dahil BayanTel ang phone namin... Blast ang binibili ko dahil mas madaling kumonect... BayanTel kasi ung number nung dial-up ng Blast. di ko alam ung sa internet plan kasi di naman ako gumagamit nun... pangalawa, dagdag gastos sa kuryente... although mababa lang naman kumonsumo ang computer... eh kung halos maghapon kang magcocomputer tingnan ko lang kung di tumaas ang bill nyo... (parang samin)... at siyempre, kaylangan mo pa ring bumili ng card nung game na lalaruin mo... although, ung sa Tantra at Pristontale... nasa beta stage parin... kaya libre pa...

Kung iisipin... bukod sa enjoyment, wala ka ng ibang mapapala sa paglalaro ng game na ito... kaya Jhay... magising ka na sa katotohanan... kung nagaaral ka na lang imbis na ubusin ang oras sa paglalaro e d sana mataas ang mga quizzes mo sa Auditing at Special Topics... at nakakabayad ka pa sana ng class fund... (hehehe... pagalitan daw ba ang sarili)

Inisip ko noon, nung kasikatan pa ng Counter-Strike... "pano kung malaos ang CS e di hihina ang computer rental business" pero mali pala ako... kaya ngayon iba na ang tanong ko: "pano kung malaos ang online games?"

I started downloading the game client for MU Dark Lord version 99z... the size of the file is 153 Mb plus 2.7 Mb for the language pack... since i'm only using a dial-up, im planning to download it on an installment basis... i should download at least 5 Mb per log-in on the net. So it would take me several days just to download this game... i really dont know the reason why i'm downloading this... in fact, i have no assurance or whatsover that this game will run smooth on my computer considering that i'm only using a 56K dial-up modem... plus my computer specs could be considered as an obsolete... 128mb ram, 64mb GF4 video card, Intel Pentium III 733mhz processor... so what can you expect from this specs? I really don't know... probably, im just wasting my time downloading this... but anyway, its better to download it rather than to do nothing when i'm connected to the net... my first option really was to download TANTRA but to my dismay, their official site is written on a korean language. i cannot find the button or the navigation bar to download the game client. their english site do not support the game client download and the indonesian site has difficulties connecting from the file server.... probably my best option is to buy a pirated cd or just borrow from my classmate...

different preparation...

usually, every Dec 31, i'm so busy preparing for new year's eve... i'm usually the runner if my mom needs something to buy and i'm usually in charge of the barbecue's and other grilled foods... but yesterday was different... it seems that my excitement of celebrating new year was simply worened out. i started my day, in front of my computer, tediously uploading all the files that are needed by my girlfriend for her project. (194 pictures most of them ranging from 100-150kb and i'm only using a dial-up internet connection) i've finished upto 120 files plus miscellaneous documents that morning and now i'm currently uploading the rest of the files. I also joined the contest of Sir Paeng... i hope my answer is correct. hehehe... after that, i tested my newly downloaded playstation emulator... and it works... but i'm experiencing some crashes cause i'm playing final fantasy 9 and the emulator admits that it can't play this title without experiencing any glitches... but i'm on the 2nd disc of the title now and i only experienced minor problems... (good news so far).

Later that morning, my mom ask me to clean up the house... and so i did... wow, my first time this christmas break to sweat a lot... i thought it will pumped me up to do other things like grilling the barbecue's... but it did not... after i ate my breakfast... i lie on my mothers bed, watch tv and then... sleep.... zzzzzzz..... i woke up... eat, watch TV again and then took a bath... played FF9 then eat... then waited till 11:30, went outside and WATCH all the people throwing firecrackers and preparing their "fountains" for the main event of the night...

This new year is quite different, because usually new year is the reunion of my whole family and other relatives... we celebrate it all together, but tonight it did not happen. Another reason why its is different is because, we don't have any other firecrackers besides "piccolo"- a smuggled firecracker for KIDS...

So i just watch all the beautiful fireworks of our neighbor... hehehe...

After that, i went inside our house... find something to eat and then all i can find is the "Carbonara" which my mom made (sawa na ko ganun din nung pasko eh) but at least i found a new recipe of graham cake which my uncle made... a sort of fruit salad graham cake... cause it's almost 3/4's toppings of assorted fruits and 1/4 crust of graham crackers... hehehe... but it's delicious... yummy... (kuha nga ulit ako)

Today, i'm scheduled to cut my LONG HAIR... (pag sinipag umalis ng bahay) and also to review on my subjects... PASUKAN NA... BAGONG TAON NA... kayo? maligaya ba ang new year nyo?

Almost all of these pacific rim volcanoes are strato-volcanoes, meaning that their eruptions are explosive and that they are made up of layers of both ash and lava. A tsunami (pronounced tsoo-nah-mee) is a wave train, or series of waves, generated in a body of water by an impulsive disturbance that vertically displaces the water column. Earthquakes, landslides, volcanic eruptions, explosions, and even the impact of cosmic bodies, such as meteorites, can generate tsunamis. Tsunamis can savagely attack coastlines, causing devastating property damage and loss of life. As a tsunami leaves the deep water of the open ocean and travels into the shallower water near the coast, it transforms. A tsunami travels at a speed that is related to the water depth - hence, as the water depth decreases, the tsunami slows. The tsunami's energy flux, which is dependent on both its wave speed and wave height, remains nearly constant. Consequently, as the tsunami's speed diminishes as it travels into shallower water, its height grows. Because of this shoaling effect, a tsunami, imperceptible at sea, may grow to be several meters or more in height near the coast. Warning Device:
The Tsunami Warning System (TWS) in the Pacific, comprised of 26 participating international Member States , has the functions of monitoring seismological and tidal stations throughout the Pacific Basin to evaluate potentially tsunamigenic earthquakes and disseminating tsunami warning information. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) is the operational center of the Pacific TWS. Located near Honolulu, Hawaii, PTWC provides tsunami warning information to national authorities in the Pacific Basin.

General Info About Tsunamis:

Tsunamis that strike coastal locations in the Pacific Ocean Basin are most always caused by earthquakes. These earthquakes might occur far away or near where you live.
Some tsunamis can be very large. In coastal areas their height can be as great as 30 feet or more (100 feet in extreme cases), and they can move inland several hundred feet.
All low-lying coastal areas can be struck by tsunamis.
A tsunami consists of a series of waves. Often the first wave may not be the largest. The danger from a tsunami can last for several hours after the arrival of the first wave.
Tsunamis can move faster than a person can run.
Sometimes a tsunami causes the water near the shore to recede, exposing the ocean floor.
The force of some tsunamis is enormous. Large rocks weighing several tons along with boats and other debris can be moved inland hundreds of feet by tsunami wave activity. Homes and other buildings are destroyed. All this material and water move with great force and can kill or injure people.
Tsunamis can occur at any time, day or night.
Tsunamis can travel up rivers and streams that lead to the ocean.

Safety Measures:

If you are on land:

If you are in school and you hear there is a tsunami warning, you should follow the advice of teachers and other school personnel.
If you are at home and hear there is a tsunami warning, you should make sure your entire family is aware of the warning. Your family should evacuate your house if you live in a tsunami evacuation zone. Move in an orderly, calm and safe manner to the evacuation site or to any safe place outside your evacuation zone. Follow the advice of local emergency and law enforcement authorities.
If you are at the beach or near the ocean and you feel the earth shake, move immediately to higher ground, DO NOT wait for a tsunami warning to be announced. Stay away from rivers and streams that lead to the ocean as you would stay away from the beach and ocean if there is a tsunami. A regional tsunami from a local earthquake could strike some areas before a tsunami warning could be announced.
Tsunamis generated in distant locations will generally give people enough time to move to higher ground. For locally-generated tsunamis, where you might feel the ground shake, you may only have a few minutes to move to higher ground.
High, multi-story, reinforced concrete hotels are located in many low-lying coastal areas. The upper floors of these hotels can provide a safe place to find refuge should there be a tsunami warning and you cannot move quickly inland to higher ground. Local Civil Defense procedures may, however, not allow this type of evacuation in your area. Homes and small buildings located in low-lying coastal areas are not designed to withstand tsunami impacts. Do not stay in these structures should there be a tsunami warning.
Offshore reefs and shallow areas may help break the force of tsunami waves, but large and dangerous wave can still be a threat to coastal residents in these areas. Staying away from all low-lying areas is the safest advice when there is a tsunami warning.

If you are on a boat:

Since tsunami wave activity is imperceptible in the open ocean, do not return to port if you are at sea and a tsunami warning has been issued for your area. Tsunamis can cause rapid changes in water level and unpredictable dangerous currents in harbors and ports.

If there is time to move your boat or ship from port to deep water (after a tsunami warning has been issued), you should weigh the following considerations:

Most large harbors and ports are under the control of a harbor authority and/or a vessel traffic system. These authorities direct operations during periods of increased readiness (should a tsunami be expected), including the forced movement of vessels if deemed necessary. Keep in contact with the authorities should a forced movement of vessel be directed.
Smaller ports may not be under the control of a harbor authority. If you are aware there is a tsunami warning and you have time to move your vessel to deep water, then you may want to do so in an orderly manner, in consideration of other vessels. Owners of small boats may find it safest to leave their boat at the pier and physically move to higher ground, particularly in the event of a locally-generated tsunami. Concurrent severe weather conditions (rough seas outside of safe harbor) could present a greater hazardous situation to small boats, so physically moving yourself to higher ground may be the only option.
Damaging wave activity and unpredictable currents can effect harbors for a period of time following the initial tsunami impact on the coast. Contact the harbor authority before returning to port making sure to verify that conditions in the harbor are safe for navigation and berthing.

So why did i put this is in my blog? The main reason is for me to calculate the percentage of a seismic wave or tsunami occuring. But base on these informations, i think, it can't be done. Because no one can predict when a volcano may errupt or a meteor will fall from the sky that may cause a tsunami. But i can say, base on these facts, that the most vulnerable countries are the countries near the Pacific Ring of Fire which includes the Philippines. As related to the tragic event that happened in south eastern part of Asia particularly in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Thailand and Maldives. The tsunami started when an earthquake rocked the northern tip of the Indonesian island of Sumatra but because there is no warning device like in the Pacific Ocean, the only indication that the tsunami is coming was the drying up of the sea and because the last tsunami that occured in the Indian Ocean was dated 60 years ago, meaning, people don't know the significance of the drying-up of the sea. If only, there were warning devices and if only, people knew about the signs of tsunami the toll of death that reached 55,000 as of today would have not happened.

(cheap) pero at least sya mayroong regalo. Pati nga sa girlfriend ko may regalo sya eh ako nga walang regalo para dun... nadagdagan na naman ang utang ko sa kanya... nung birthday nya kasi wala rin akong nairegalo... huhuhu... sana sa valentines day may mairegalo na ko... anyway, bahala na si mama sa mga inaanak ko... maya maya mapupuno na ang bahay namin ng bisita... dalawa kasi ang sinecelebrate dito pag pasko... Kaarawan din kasi ngayon ng aking lola... Astig nga eh... kung lola ko December 25 ang asawa nya na lolo ko (syempre) November 1...
haaayyy... sana maraming magregalo sakin... hehehe... naaamoy ko na ang luto ni inay... kaya parang... parang... parang may anghel sa aking labi (ilong pala... naaamoy ko pa lang eh) na nakalutang sa ulap at nangigiliti... makakain na nga...

New Weapon

Right hand jab that looks more of a Straight Punch... This is the new weapon that Manny Pacquiao brought in his fight against Nahrongrit Fashung Pirang... (i don't know the right spelling for Fashung cause some articles write it as Fahsan and Pirang which was written as Phirang... But i'll just use Fashung and Pirang cause it's the one i've seen on his shorts)

From his past fights... Manny is known to be aggressive and most of his punches are just pure combination and just waiting for the right time to unload his devastating left hand... He also relies on his foot work and rythm to unload his killer blows... but all of that was changed...

Since the very first round... Manny unloaded continous barrage of his newly acquired weapon... And one thing that is very noticeable to his new fighting style is that he had lessen his foot work and decided to just focus on giving more power to his right hand punches... He also limits the use of his left hand and only used it when Fashung gets too close to him... But because of the good defense shown by 3k Battery... most of the punches thrown by Manny landed only in his gloves... But Manny showed that his all business... he continues his raging punches and deadly combinations that stopped the momentum of Fashung...

Late in the 2nd round... Pacquiao connects with a right punch straight to the forehead of Pirang and then throwed a left hand that made the Thai boxer hit the floor... on the 3rd round... Pacquiao continues to work on his right hand but as promise, the Thai boxer fought toe-to-toe and unloads his own right hands that shaken up Pacquiao but most of these are counter punches. The 4th round was a different one... Manny is just too fast and too furious for Pirang to handle... He throw a right hand and then followed it with a left uppercut that made the Thai hit the floor again... But it's not yet over... after the standing 8 count Pacquiao threw again a right hand that opened the defense of Pirang and then delivered his finishing left hand uppercut connecting to the jaw that sends Pirang's both feet up and landed hard on his back... But i was surprised that a doctor suddenly appears inside the ring that stopped the fight... i thought referee Ferdinand Estrella should have counted first before stopping the fight and then call a doctor... is this the meaning of a home court advantage? Anyway... it doesn't really matter because obviously Pirang was knocked out...

Pacquiao definitely proved that the speculations of the Thai camp are wrong... They said that Manny is not at his peak condition which Manny personally admits and that they found the vulnerable spot of Manny that Pirang promises to rip off...

This bout ended to be a tune-up fight in preparation for the rematch against Juan Manuel Marquez on Febuary 26 next year... But i think Manny showed some weaknessess in this fight... One is that when he's too confident, he tends to drop his guard and becomes too careless... another weakness is that he lessens his foot work making him an easy target... and another one is that he easily gets frustrated when he can't knock down his opponent after delivering hard punches...

After the fight against Marquez it's rumored that he's next opponent will be Erik Morales and then the much awaited rematch against Marco Antonio Barrera...

As suspected... Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of this film lived up to his reputation as one of the top movie producers in Hollywood... he also produced top grossers films like Pearl Harbor, The Pirates of the Caribbean, The Rock, Black Hawk Down, and Armaggedon... aside from films... he had also produced the Emmy Award winning reality show The Amazing Race... From this list... can you imagine how rich this guy is...

The movie is currently the number 1 box office film in the US... as well as for other countries knocking off The Incredibles... and gaining a gross of $110,113,345 in just 17 days from its first release. So, what made this film a box office hit?

Probably, one reason for their success is having Nicolas Cage as the movies' lead star... Because this man in Hollywood... Starring in box office hit movies like The Rock, Gone in 60 Seconds, 8mm, Snake Eyes, Con Air, Windtalkers and Face/Off just to name a few... he had also bagged an Oscar Award winning as Best Actor in a leading role in the movie Leaving Las Vegas... Indeed, this man had proven that his a real TREASURE...

Another reason is the films Cinematography... Caleb Deschanel's cinematography takes us on a national landmark tour. Part of the movie's pleasure is racing from the National Archives to the Library of Congress, from the Jefferson Memorial to Independence Hall. The sightseeing primes one's curiosity about American history and lessons get taught whether looking at the Liberty Bell or Benjamin Franklin's ocular inventions. It's just simply amazing how the director, John Turteltaub sequenced all the events that made the story very interesting...

I've just seen the coming soon movies in the US and one of those movies is BLADE: TRINITY... attention to all WWE fans and viewers especially TRIPLE H fans... He will be playing his first ever movie character Jarko Grimwood in this action adventure...

NBA Brawl

This was pretty much too late for an article but i just want to make an opinion to the incident that happen on November 20 (Philippine time) in the NBA...

Detroit, it was the most disgusting scene in the hitory of American Basketball... fans and players are caught in a brawl... punches are thrown... some are being pinned down... some are being held to prevent further harm... and as the players leave the court bottles, cups, ice, snacks are being throwned at them... and i think, it was the first time i saw a game being called off because of a fight...

It all started when Ron Artest of Indiana Pacers gave Ben Wallace of the Detroit Pistons a hard foul going in to the basket... When replayed, it was not that hard but Wallace was too upset that he overreacted and charged Ron Artest... the referee had quickly separated the two but still Wallace tries to charge Artest... Artest lies down on the officials table and pretending that nothing happened... it was almost over until a bottle flew and hit Artest... He quickly rushed into the crowd and punched the person who threw the bottle that sparked the brawl... Stephen Jackson of Indiana rushed also into the crowd and threw some punches... As well as Jermaine O'neil the star of the Indiana Pacers... The crowd went berserk and the fight seems endless... Finally some orders were restrained and the players went into the dug-out... even Ric Carlisle the coach of Indiana are being throwned by bottles and ice... Larry Brown, the coach of Detroit, are very disgusted about the way the fans reacted...

Due to this incident, David Stern, the commisioner of the NBA penalized all the players that where involved in that brawl... The three players of Indiana and Ben Wallace are suspended with Artest obtaining the worst... He was suspended for the rest of the season and was rumored to be banned to play in the NBA...

In my opinion, Artest is no doubt guilty of what happened and a suspension is definitely just the right penalty for his misbehavior but to be banned in playing is just too much... Indeed it was his fault that triggered the brawl but is he the only one to be blamed for?... Stern defended his stand and yes he has a point that because they are professionals, they must have control of their behavior but you can't blame Artest for attacking the fan, it's just his instinct to retaliate that made him forget about the rules... Being suspended for the rest of the season is enough for Artest... Imagine having no job for the rest of the season...

MTV: more than just a music channel

I'm a music lover but i personally think that music doesn't love me... so what do i do... i just watch MTV so i can appreciate some kind of music... to watch my favorite music video... to hear my favorite song... and to see my favorite music artists... so, what makes me think that MTV is more than just a music channel...

Indeed 95% of the shows that are being aired everyday at MTV are pure music related stuff but whats interesting is the other 5%... I personally think that MTV Pilipinas still remains the number one music channel in the Philippines contrary to what MYX say... No doubt MYX was a breakthrough, introducing a music video with lyrics flashing so that audience or viewers could sing along with the music... but the only problem is, checking the list of their program, you will notice that some of their programs are being repeated twice a day... The only program that i could remember that are being repeated thrice a week is MYX Live... In short, anybody could easily get bored in watching this Channel... good thing that they only air MYX via Studio 23 every morning ranging from 8 am-12 nn because it creates MYX fans who are non-cable subscribers a little excitement plus they only air MYX HIT CHART, OPM Countdown, MYX DAILY TOP TEN as well as MYX Live and... and... and nothing more...

This what's make MTV Pilipinas much more fun to watch... it is true that most of their shows came from MTV in the US but still, the shows that are originally made in the Philippines are much better than of MYX... Shows like MTV Diyes as compared to MYX HIT CHART... And other shows that are not purely related to music like MTV Lokal, MTV Loveline, MTV MicMoTo, MTV Fashionista, Be Seen on MTV, part of MTV Most Wanted, MTV Bolahan, MTV Get Spotted, MTV Supahstar and the annual MTV Pilipinas Music Awards...

But this are only some of the shows why MTV Pilipinas is much more fun than MYX... probably you're wondering why i'm just comparing MTV and MYX... simply because they are the only channels that are pretty much competitive... In fact, the only channel that i know who airs music video besides this two is Channel 5 and i think Net 25 airs UN TV... i don't think that Channel V is still being aired here in the Philippines through local television.

The other shows that made MTV a real fun to watch are the shows coming from the US...
If you want to see stupid people doing stupid things... then i recommend watching this stupid shows... Number 1 on my list of recommend is the WILD BOYZ... hosted by former Jackasses Steve-O and Chris Pontious, this show is the best animal show i've ever seen... watch for their newest season... showing i think this week... 2nd show on my list of recommend is PUNK'D... hosted by Ashton Kutcher, this show was the one imitated by VICTIM... 3rd is MTV Pimp My Ride... hosted by US famous rap artist X-zibit... although it's not really a stupid show i still included this to my top list because of its unique concept, want to see cars turned from junk to a dream car? 4th is MTV's own reality based show THE ASSISTANT... hosted and produced by Hollywood actor Andy Dick... the most stupid reality show on the planet... imagine being fired right after you are introduced as an aplicant... and last on my list is One Bad Trip... a reality show wherein people are set-uped by MTV for their loved ones to see the truth behind this people... most of them are nasty stuff... check out also the other shows like MTV Cribs, Globally Dismissed, MTV Springbreak, Roomraiders and their newest Rouge...

And i think MTV was successful because they have much more resources compared to MYX... hehehe...

Some people might agree with me others might not... i just want to express my opinion... nothing more...

haaaayyyyy... tagal ko rin di nakapagpost dito... ngayon lang kasi me nakabili ng interent prepaid... anyway... first things first... i just want to thank my so called BERKS for giving me the greatest gift i've ever received as of now... wonder what it is? here's the story...

as i've always mention here in my blog... i want to have a grand celebration of my birthday, if not, a simple one will do... because it's my 21st birthday (ang tanda ko na...) and i also want to celebrate it with my friends which i usually do ever since i'm in highschool... but because of some financial problems i've decided not to celebrate this special occation... huhuhu...
i usually invite my friends, probably a week before the celebration and the fact that i'm not inviting anyone on the day before my birthday made them (my friends) know that i'm not going to celebrate my birthday...

Luckily, my birthday fell on my no class schedule (FRIDAY) so i just stayed home and wait for my cellphone to beep hoping that someone will remeber my birthday...

The next day... as predicted... may mga gustong magpalibre (ang hirap magisip ng english para dito... hehehe...)

After class i've decided to go home and try to overcome the sadness that plagued me...

When i arrived... a QUESTION shocked me (exaggerated)...

Grandma: "May kasama ka?"
Me: "Anong kasama?"
Grandma: "Sabi ng MAMA mo may tumawag daw dito pupunta raw?"
Sis: (napatingin sa lola ko at biglang natahimik)
Mom: "Bakit mo sinabi... sikreto nga yun eh... wala na..."
Me: "Talaga! (with a face of a surprised individual) Sino sino daw sila?"

Hahaha... the surprise came much too early... i'm so excited... my mom said that i should pretend that i don't know anything... so i did what she told...

They've arrived and with them are foods (uncooked) and a large box... wonder what it is? After they came inside our house... they immediately proceeded to the kitchen and started cooking... probably their hungry too... hehehe... After that, they opened the large box that contains a CAKE with my name on it and some writings that says: "Dream, Believe, Survive..." (nakalimutan ko yung iba yun lang kasi naalala ko... para tuloy ako naSTAR STRUCK hehehe...) and what's the use of a birthday cake without the CANDLES... yes, 2 candles #2 and #1... do they have to emphasize my age... hehehe...

I was so........ speechless... i don't know how to thank them... 'cause i know that a "simple thank you" is not enough for that special gift that they've given me...

I always thank GOD for the blessings that HE had given me especially for the great friends that he have given me... So, to all my friends who went to our house just to surprise me... GRAND THANK YOU... thanx also to the people who greeted me...

Over a week had passed since DLSU Green Archers won the UAAP mens basketball... still the celebration continue... who can't blame them... after emerging victorious from what has become a "David and Goliath Battle". But i can't take all the criticism FEU has been taking from the players of LA SALLE... in deed they have the right to brag about their championship but to be too personal is simply just too much... I remember the episode of one of my favorite TV shows, Wazzup Wazzup that is, while they where interviewing MAC CARDONA and JOSEPH YEO, TONI GONZAGA ask this shocking question (for FEU)

Toni: Ang sikreto ba ng LA SALLE kaya sila nanalo ay dahil mas MASARAP ang mga kinakain nila kaysa sa FEU?

mukhang desidido na talaga si Mam DINDIN na iwanan ang FEU... pero bakit nga ba? dahil ba nakakita na si mam ng mas magandang trabaho sa labas o baka ayaw nya na sa sistema ng FEU... Almost a week had passed since the heartbreaking loss of Far Eastern University to De La Salle University. Truly its a stunning event because im there watching this epic battle. I still remember the play that put the hopes of FEU for the title away. With time less than 35 seconds and the ball is in the possesion of the archers... suddenly the ball went into the hands of JV CASIO, fumbles with the ball a little bit then launch the decicive three-pointer... BOOM it went in... the La Salle fans errupted and the FEU crowd stunned... Wow... it was a very big shot that it seems that it is already game over... but there are still time remaining 25.6 secs to play... FEU had their last chance... As play resumes, DENOK dribbled the time away and with only 10 secs on the game clock he drives, fake the shot, and got 2 archers airborne... suddenly his free, took the leanner and then........................................... he blew it... huhuhu.... the crowd is still roaring, ISIP tipped the ball but it barely hit the rim... then a battle for the rebound, ARWIND tipped it but to no luck fall into the hands of the self proclaimed MVP, Mac Cardona. That last play was the last play made by DENOK because this is his last season... what a way to end his college career... a ghost that probably will hunt him forever...
Even though we lose i'm still proud to be a TAMARAW... because of the heart that our players showed... maybe its just not destined to become this years champion... And because of the great support of the FEU society showed... most of them did not leave the coliseum 'till the last line of the FEU hymn... truly this event will last in the minds, not only to those who belong to this two schools but to every people who watched the game... It has been the most exciting ballgame in the history of the UAAP basketball....
Upto now, i still can't accept the defeat... huhuhu....

kahapon ng ako'y pauwi galing sa aking paaralan medyo masama ang panahon... maambon at medyo may kalakasan ang hangin... sumakay ako ng jeep papuntang doroteo jose station (LRT) nakasabay ko pa nga ang aking kaklase na si rhea nilibre pa nga niya ako ng pamasahe nakakahiya nga eh pero mapilit eh. ayoko naman siyang mapahiya sakin kaya nagpalibre na rin ako... hehehe... pumara ako, nagpaalam sa kanya at bumaba ng jeep. sumakay ako ng LRT at bumaba sa monumento station. Dumaan sa loob ng Ever Grandcentral at tinahak ang daan patungong MCU. Dun kasi ako sumasakay ng bus... Naghintay ako at pinalampas ang ilang biyaheng malanday... napansin ko na lumalakas na ang ambon... nang makita ko ang isang bus dalidali akong sumakay... pagpasok aba'y napakaraming nakatayo... sumiksik ako hanggang makarating sa bandang dulo ng bus... mayamaya'y napansin ko na may humahagikhik.... isang bata ang nakikipagbiruan sa kanyang ama. nakakatuwang pagmasdan ang bata sapagkat naaalala ko ang aking sarili dahil ganun din ako tumawa... hehehe... at ang isa pang kapansinpansin sa bata ay ang kanyang natitirang dalawang ngipin sa baba... kulay brown na nga rin parang bibigay na... enjoy na enjo siya sa pangungulit nya sa kanyang ama... mayamaya'y nahinto ang pagtawa ng bata at sinabing "'Tay naiihi po ako"... ang sagot ng ama "Naku malayo pa tayo, tiisin mo muna..." kanina, pinagtatawanan ako ng aking mga kaberks dahil parang papatay daw ako ng tao sa inis... pano ba naman, pagkatanggap ko ng gawa namin sa production e may nakita akong superimposition na grade... sa malayo palang sabi ko mukhang mababa grade ah... abay oo nga... "75" ang grade namin... 75!!!!!!!! At di pa doon nagtatapos ang aking pagkabigla... nakalagay sa ilalim ng grade ay "2 QUIZZES"! anak ng .... pagkatapos naming kumain sa chowking at bumili ng tagiisang lauriat 75 lang ang grade namin?...
di ako mapakali... tiningnan ko ang mga grade ng kaklase ko at hinayupak, 100 silang lahat... ano bang nangyayari... nung tiningnan ko ulit yung papel, nakita kong may nakalagay na "late" dali-dali kong pinaliwanag kay mam ala na hindi naman kami talagang late... salamat naman at mabait at maintindihin si mam kaya yun, 100 na rin ako... yehey...
akala ko tapos na ang pagdurusa ko sa mga mali-maling gawa... pagkatapos kong makakuha ng 100/120% na grade kay sir dulay na karamihan sa klase ay naka 120% heto't natanggap ko ang ginawa kong assignment sa production ulit... 95 lang kami... samantalang ang karamihan ay 100 nanaman... pagbukas ko ng papel may nakita akong sulat na kulay pula... binasa ko... ang nakalagay ay "production strategy?" akalain mo yun, wala pala akong nailagay na production strategy... peste talaga... mali-mali talaga ako... huhuhu...
Kaya heto ko ngayon dito sa blog binubuhos ang mga pagkakamali ko... nirerefresh ko lang ang utak ko... meron pa kasi akong assignment na gagawin sa FinMan at HRM... haayyy... kaya ko to... matatapos ko tong lahat...

Olympic gold medalist sa mens basketball... pagkatapos nilang pahirapan at talunin ang US team (di ko na kasi masabing dream team kasi di naman talaga pang dream team ung line-up nila)... sino ba dapat ang sisihin sa pagkatalo ng US... personally, dapat sisantihin na ung official na namili ng players ng US... tsaka ung mga pastar na mga basketball players ng NBA... puro pera ang nasa isip... tsaka takot mainjured... siguro naman matututo na sila sa nangyari... gumawa ng history ang US team... 1st time matalo sa olympics since payagan ang NBA players na maglaro... at first time din to finish 3rd... ganyan talaga ang basketball... kaya abangan nalang natin kung seseryosohin na ng US ang Olympics with regards to basketball...
